6.5 Grendel is a good cartridge to start off with in the long range game. Plenty of data out there to help you and not a lot of unknowns anymore. Try to get one of the shallow face chambers so theres more meat on the lugs. Thats what my ARP barrel uses which is a x39 bolt.

In a couple of months I should have some results from another project Im following/working on. If all goes well itll beat thepants off anything currently made but itll be a handloading only cartridge that is very brass prep intensive require necking down, moving the shoulder, inside neck reaming, neck turning and finally fireforming BUT itll be a freakin laser beam. The grendel is to hold me over til I can get that cartridge going. Lots of cool stuff coming out in the next year.
