    Dammit Sloppy!

That's it!!!! I'm moving to Colorado.

I appreciate the respectful and somewhat considered replies. But, unless you were partaking of the evil weed, you obviously have not read what I have posted.

Let's get HB to start a thread comparing apples and oranges.

Does one bad cop make the whole police department corrupt? That's the point of the thread. I'd rather watch a worthless NFL player take a knee than be a victim of a corrupt cop.

BTW, For those not paying attention, Colon Krapperneck was not the first NFL player to take a knee. Many have in the past. The difference was they did it while head bowed and hand on their chest. Meanwhile, in the background, you had players with their backs turned, engaged in conversation.

Give the guys a break, they can't all be superstars like O.J.

If you think I place more value on the NFL than the military, you are skewing the point and completely ignoring statements made. But....why does Alton Brown drive a top fuel dragster for the Army? Never know when those Afgans are going to invade a racetrack.....

That's my point, you can always narrow the focus away from the subject, huh?

The other side of the Guard: When called into service, a plethora of them were dragged kicking, screaming and crying, because they thought their second job playing soldiers on the weekends wasn't going to involve the potential active service they signed up for.

As I said before, those never called served their country in a vital role, as did all military vets who never saw action. The difference is, those that didn't see action, boasting on their service like it comes close to a level of those that did.

The reason I singled out the National Guard is that, at least those full time military vets that never saw action, gave up civilian jobs, time with family and loved ones, and were on the job 24/7. Merely pointing out that generalities are ALWAYS wrong.

Again, my opinion, sorry, but if you have to have hands on, personal experience and expertise in every area you want to post an opinion on, well....then all non NFL members need to STFU.

I don't propose to control or regulate control of this thread, nor was it my intent to stir up a hornest's nest of opinionated hate, but hopefully, a thoughtful debate that might make some step out of their opionated hatred long enough to at least view a different opinion open mindedly, and post their view civilly.

Despite what you may believe, ( certain people ), there are at LEAST 2 sides to every story.

I certainly don't defend nor deny that their are worthless individuals in the NFL. Entitled crimminals who should be looking up and giving thanks rolling out of bed in the morning, instead of after they make a touchdown and do some goofy arse end zone celebration.

Comparing some overpaid bench jockey to a veteran who never served WOULD be ignorant and stupid. But lumping in the NFL's good guys with the bad is just as wrong.

I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone from posting their opinion, much less discourage them from exercising their freedom to choose to support their right to choose to support their beliefs financially.

Just hate blanket statements lumping and condemning a whole group based on the actions of a few.

You are a god damned idiot.

I was in the reserves. Not a single soldier in my unit was “kicking and screaming” when we got our orders. Not fucking one. And we did our jobs damned well.

And now you gonna act like you have some moral high ground because some of us choose to disagree with a petulant spoiled rich kid who has no idea what the flag represents and refuses to stand for it based on lies that he refuses to become educated about, instead pushing a bullshit narrative for victim points over a struggle that he is further from than most white people in this country. Give me a break.

He can kneel all he wants. Nobody has tried to take that right away from him no matter how you twist it. The NFL COULD have said “not on our time” but they chose to allow it, so people chose to stop supporting them. Free speech doesn’t mean we must lick the taint of everyone who chooses to take an ignorant stance on an idiotic and bullshit narrative. Free speech is important because people need to speak up when they hear such idiocy. So stop pretending you have some deep insight in to a subject when you don’t even under stand the principles at play.

Just like ignorant leftists in Hollywood can make a movie promoting anti American BS and we can all choose to let it flop at the box office. If the NFL chooses to allow the same ignorant BS we can walk away and watch them attempt to appease people who would never watch them anyways.

    Go **** yourself.

    Dallas Texas or so
Wether Service man served in the Army on active duty the reserves and National Guard the Air Force on active duty reserves or air guard or the Navy or Marine Corps active duty or reserves every one of them signed a blank check payable to the United States of America States of America for any amount up to and including their life.

With very few exceptions NFL players have signed checks payable to their agent for 10%.

Those exceptions include a few players from the 1950s some from the 60s Staubach and Hennings Bleier and I believe there's another Steeler now that was in the service as well as of course Tillman.

In baseball how many players have served over the years including Ted Williams who fought in World War II and Korea and gave up probably the most productive years of his baseball career to do so.

Ummmm....when did I ever say in any way shape, or form I back any a....hole who disrepects this country the way those NFL players who choose to kneel during the Anthem do. They not only disrespect those that have served in the military, but every patriotic American, and this Country.

Point being, and apparently missed, what does that have to do with the rest of the NFL, and why should they be grouped together in one basket?

Again, I don't appreciate the military or their contributions because I DON'T lump them in the same basket?

I stand corrected, I'm just an idiot. Your experience with your piece of the world trumps anyone elses, and ANYONE who served in the military couldn't possibly have done any wrong.

NFL players only give back out of self- serving interests, while all servicemen only joined strictly to serve their fellow man. Nevermind for some it was a choice between jail or service.

But....WTF do I know? Every NFL player is the same, and every serviceman is the same. Why don't we just become Socialists and be done with it.

Thanks for making my point for me. That WAS the point of this thread after all, not to prove the NFL or the military was better, but the blanket treatment of each, when they are both made up of individuals.

You just now getting that? Where do you think taking a guided taxpayer funded boat tour of the world and then making it your claim to fame was directed?

BTW, Guys, those that served in the reserves or active duty stateside or out of armed conflict, thank you for your service. Just look back, and I have given those credit for doing so in this thread. Do I consider that service equal to those who faced combat and came back wounded equal? Sorry , but I don't .

This I have to agree with.
You have made up points lately, just to throw them away and wind up back in a hole.
