Am at work (Academy) and was walking a firearm purchase to the register.

Over heard the dude saying to his phone that his wife was in surgery.

He was killing time until she was done and bought a S&W SDVE in 9mm.

I asked him if he was nuts buying a gun while his wife was in surgery.

These days they don’t let others into pre-op and post-op. They have to wait outside. I don’t blame him for killing time, at least it was a place where he wasn’t bored to tears like a waiting room.

I was killing time yesterday afternoon at the Academy in McKinney. Talking to the guy at the gun counter and appears that someone had come in either earlier in the day or the day before, asked to look at a S&W M&P, then proceeded to run out the door with it. Said they are not allowed to try and stop them.
