I cannot wait to finally be adjusted to this thing. EVERYTHING is a continuous pinging. Every time I hear the pinging I know my implant has picked up sound I can't identify yet. It's awful. This is a completely different way of hearing, too. So the sound is like telepathy. It's in my head and it makes me feel like I'm in a constant drunk state. I don't know how else to explain it. My appetite is dropping due to feeling like I'm drunk. I know they said it can take up to a year, but I at least hope the pinging and drunk feeling subside soon. Good grief, this is overwhelming.

But you're hearing all new things. And the pinging is probably Jeremy hiding and making his phone ping just to mess with your head.

    Lol
Its not. It happens with voices as well and when he doesn't have his phone.

I guess I can't make anyone understand that this is not the hearing your used to. I'm "hearing" with the inside of my head rather than my ears. No way to hide that. Lol

You have gone way too far to turn back now. You'll make it. Especially when I first started using a hearing aid, the sounds that I was missing before could be overwhelming at times. Sometimes they still are. When it gets to be too much, or just to get some peace, take it off for a while if you have to.
I know I give you shit about it, I still will, but you can do it.
