Do you support open carry? Do you support constitutional carry? Do you think there should be limits on your rights to protect bed wetting yankee's feelings? Do you think criminals care about laws?
Yes (I was tracking and posting the oc bills progress in tgt as they went through the house and senate), yes, none, of course they don't which is why I don't go where my gun can't.

You realize It was only in the last 20 years when Yankees and Kali's moved to Texas, did the laws on the book for over a hundred years get repealed.

Too bad they did not get here sooner. Native Texans seemed be quite content with long established gun bans.

People have been open carrying at walmarts in New Mexico for the past 25 years with no drama. This is a Texas thing. Too many Californians and New Yorkers here in Texas.

same thing back in West Virginia, un licensed open carry and no one gave a second look

Well I am not a native Texan that is for sure. I was shocked how anti gun Texas was when I got here, having come from a pro-gun state. Worse was how content so many native Texans were with the status quo. Glad to see thing are finally turning around.

True that. I think it was around 1993 that the switch start.

Bloomberg's idiot soccer moms ate trying everything they can to make open carry a problem in Texas. If they can make it a big enough problem here, in what a lot consider to be the bastion of the gun, they figure they can win everywhere else.
Not only Texas, but several other states, have made big strides the last couple years. Managers like that need to be educated and shown that their stupidity and fear will cost them. Yes, they have a right to ask you to leave. But when it is because of outright lie, call them on it. Call their boss and let them know you are. There is at least 1 manager at my store that does not like open carry. But even he says that it is the law and company policy is - if the open carrier is not causing a problem, they are not a problem.
Ask for their bosses number. And their boss. Threaten letigation for discrimination. Especially in a situation where they quote a nonexistant regulation and you have a witness to what was said.
You people make me want to open carry even more than ever. And I don't even have my LTC yet. DAMMIT people,, stand up for yourselves or let them win without a fight. We they see it might cost THEM financially, I bet a lot of them backpedal real fast. Several of the places that had some kind of sign up around here already took them down. You may not win any friends, but show them that they aren't either. And may be losing money as well. Your choice. Stand up or give up.

That's cause old Texans like my grandparents and great grandparents ignored the laws anyway. They were also rarely ever enforced until recent times. My grandparents carried long before CHL laws existed.

Until the early 1980s when people up north and the west coast realized Texas had mor and better than they did. Then movec here and started crying about us not doing things their way. Some of those I still know are now crying because plces in Texas have tried doing it their way. Idiots didn't know what they where asking for.

LOL. I have case law documenting its enforcement dating back to 1870s.

Fact is Texas was a democratic stronghold till late 80s when out of staters achieved critical mass and the last time a Democrat won statewide office in Texas was 1994

I believe Ann Richards (D) vetoed the Texas CHL bill in 1993, did she not?

yes, Gov Leatherface vetoed it and vowed to never let it pass while she was in office
GW Bush signed it into law after he was elected
remember the Lubys massacre was in 91 and the push for chl started right after that.

Yeah those walmarts must be out in the middle of nowhere. Oh wait, they're in the cities such as Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
