“The Office of the Attorney General has investigated the Attorney General and the finding of the Office of the Attorney General is the the Attorney General is innocent”
Huh, I guess since they investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing, we should definitely just drop it.

Furthermore, an official from the Office of the Attorney General was physically present at a hearing of the House General Investigating Committee on Thursday, May 25. The official offered to testify and sought to inform the House General Investigating Committee about this matter, including by supplying the report, which the official had a physical copy of with him. However, the House General Investigating Committee specifically chose to ignore the official’s offer to testify because they were narrowly focused on advancing an illegal action that would disenfranchise voters who duly elected the Attorney General. They were not interested in the truth. They were interested only in crafting a highly curated, one-sided case to overthrow the will of the voters.

In light of the irresponsible, unfounded, and illegal impeachment of Attorney General Paxton, the Office of the Attorney General is now releasing the report.
More Jan 6 stuff in the House.

Yep, this is the same kind of crap most of us have been bitching about when the Obama/Biden DOJ does it to screw gun owners, ”exonerate“ Hillary, and obstruct the mountains of evidence on Hunter.

Anybody going to watch Paxton trail? Phelan and Dems out to get him. So many lies by the RINOS on TV is sickening. Personally, would rather see ALL the crap the Texas house and senate members are into.
Yes, Dems are pouring $$ into the state to take it back.

@popper, here’s your original thread on the topic. Paxton made his bed, now he gets to sleep in it.

The KPRC coverage this morning was awfull. The trial was all pre-trial procedures and outside speculation by local news people and a few "experts". No real proceedings yet.

A VERY interesting read on impeachment in Texas - a real case! If you want good results from Gov, read the article. Read what he did and why he got impeached.
    His trial -
    https://casetext.com/case/ferguson-v-maddox -- an interesting read!

Sec. 7. REMOVAL OF OFFICERS WHEN MODE NOT PROVIDED IN CONSTITUTION (sic..). The Legislature shall provide by law for the trial and removal from office of all officers of this State, the modes for which have not been provided in this Constitution.

Sec. 8. REMOVAL OF JUDGES BY GOVERNOR ON ADDRESS OF TWO-THIRDS OF EACH HOUSE OF LEGISLATURE. The Judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and District Courts, shall be removed by the Governor on the address of two-thirds of each House of the Legislature, for willful neglect of duty, incompetency, habitual drunkenness, oppression in office, or other reasonable cause which shall not be sufficient ground for impeachment; (sic..)

The Texas Supreme Court defined impeachment broadly in a 1924 case, Ferguson v. Maddox. The court stated, “‘Impeachment,’ at the time of the adoption of the (Texas) Constitution, was an established and well-understood procedure in English and American parliamentary law… It was designed, primarily, to reach those in high places guilty of official delinquencies or maladministration… the wrongs justifying impeachment need not be statutory offenses or common-law offenses
    another interesting Texas Law.
No matter what your opinions are about Paxton, the question of proper application of Texas Laws is very important - else quit bitching about your problems with laws.

Paxton has long been known to be as crooked as crooked can be, and was arrogant enough to call out Phelen for drunkenness while both of his own hands were in the cookie jar. He's most likely not only going to be removed, he (and possibly his wife) are looking at lengthy prison terms.

This is what it is about! So Paxton and wife went to H.D. to pick out stuff for renovation. Proves they were involved with the 'illegal deal' what's-his-name? You want a builder to pick out your stuff? 'I didn't think he was acting morally' says one testimony and maybe being blackmailed. Huh - what? He wants Gov $ to pay for lawsuit by his fired employees when in OFFICE. Phelan said nope. Let's see, he sued the US gov on several occasions, Google, and others. Nope nobody mad at him.
You want lawful Gov? Better rethink some statements here.
Office holders aren't really worried about repercussions, i.e. re-election - big $ controls that. Few cycles back a conservative rancher tried to run for state office. Couldn't get traction as $$ required for running a campaign. Big $ in Texas isn't interested in the people or conservative issues, period! We are lucky to get anybody with good intentions in office ever.
    Read and weep.
    Original cases against Paxton.
I don't know them, am not in Gov but concerned Texan about our Gov.

    Today's See- BS news
Paxton hired a special prosecutor (Paul's request?) to investigate FBI changing the search warrant after-the-fact. Basically told by his staff he can't investigate the FBI. Lawyer gets cease & desist notices from US marshal and isn't paid by Texas for his time.
    Illegal to question FBI actions?
AG (office) whistleblowers suit settled against AG (office) Phelan decides state won't pay. If you sue your boss and both are in state Gov, case is about Gov business, isn't that a 'state' case? So what jurisdiction does FBI have? Oh, just 'link' it to an FBI investigation.
Originally, Paxton was a 'broker'. didn't renew for a while - accused of recommending an investment when being paid by the investment when lic not in effect. Not smart - but investors lost $ and wanted him to pay.
I had a buddy once that fixed my A/C for free - is that illegal?
My point - when is Texas going to get it's business in order!

Okay, so then Paxton can get back to the business of being a thorn in the side of the Biden admin, and should probably look to bring charges against those who knowingly made false allegations (filing false report?) against him to get this whole charade in motion.
