I had a whole order prepared to get me into this game. I canceled it when I finally had to admit that I knew absolutely nothing about these gizmos! I'll hand around to learn from you guys then maybe try it again, later.

    Roger,

I was fumbling with my first quad then spent $30 on a tiny little quad that I could fly around the living room, bounce off walls, etc.

I highly recommend something like that. I have the Estes ProtoX.

I was hoping it would be.

I had a stick tied off center on the string so if it caught on something solid it could flip up and release. But when it caught it was in a small fork so when it flipped it became a bar across the two small limbs.

A better pilot could have probably gotten it lose. The altitude hold locked it in trying to hold its position pulling against the string so I couldn't get the tension off to let it release.

    Shoulda changed flight modes. .

So if you put one of those really strong magnets on the top of the air plane and use an equally strong magnet on the quad you may have less tangle\hook problems.

Get one of these. I have a few small quads and it's the easiest to fly of the lot including the proto x I have. The controller is also man sized.

    Considered something like that afterwards.

The plane only weight a few ounces. I'd bet one of the magnets used for the canopies would hold it pretty well and not addict weight. Probably want one on the bottom too.

    And not magnetic

I considered a strip, but I think a magnet would give more holding power.

    Don't worry.

My daughter has a lot of learning to do and I'm dumb enough to try again :p

Do those have the recording function?

I was looking at the micro kit but the goggles look pretty basic. Buying goggles separate I can get the ability to record the received video in case of catastrophe.

Also have to figure out getting GPS info sent back to the DX6. That's more about the apprentice though
