I wasn't gonna go much lower, didn't want it to start doing the yoyo thing and hit water.

I was thinking the same about a shot coming up over the damn but was in a rush and the sheriff had already mentioned CoE might not like me flying close.

Not sure about wind currents near the wall and over the top either. Maybe some day. Guess I can start further back and work my way up.

Just used the quad in a revue attempt for a plane. $800 quad to save $50 plane is just bad math.

You're right, gonna have to feel it out and of course conditions change daily.

Anybody know if the magnetic field from hydroelectric generators will effect RC controls? I know it's programmed to land if both Tx and GPS signal are lost. If only Tx signal is lost it will return home and land.

Return home, not so bad. Landing where it's at could cause major issues, lol.

I was hoping it would be.

I had a stick tied off center on the string so if it caught on something solid it could flip up and release. But when it caught it was in a small fork so when it flipped it became a bar across the two small limbs.

A better pilot could have probably gotten it lose. The altitude hold locked it in trying to hold its position pulling against the string so I couldn't get the tension off to let it release.

Shoulda changed flight modes. .
