The dominator v2 has the capability to take an SD card from the data sheet I read. So does the HD but the HD is old and phased out apparently. There's a few other lineups they have that record too I think.

Ok, the dominator V2 is the headset I was looking at before.

The one I was thinking about that didn't look like it had record/vid out capability was the ultra micro bundle. There was one with a FatShark headset but it looks like they rebranded it as spektrum now for the kit.

Edit: spectrum bundle comes with Teleporter V4.

Got the 350 QX out for a test flight for the first time since the tree incident.

Everything seemed to check out but it was drifting forward in auto level mode. Hooked it to the computer and sure enough the sensors were reading a slight reward lean when level.

Re calibrated the accelerometers, everything else checked out. Will take it back out tomorrow to make sure it's hovering right if the wind will calm down.

Haven't been in that situation yet. Probably going to be a nerve racking test when the time comes.

Glad it came back to you

I lost mine this morning. Freaked me out. RTH saved the day.
    Glad you got it back.

RTH is essentially a straight line, right? Damn any obstacles you may have flown around.

There should be a RTF (re trace flight [or similar]) so it doesn't collide on the return.

Too many teens on a golf cart making laps, standard for a holiday weekend.

I chased them with the Alias. Driver hit the brakes and the girls facing rearward screamed.

    I love my job. ;)

Just set a new personal altitude record. Not sure how high, about 4 minutes up at full throttle, lost sight of it and for a while, the return trip was a little nerve racking until I could hear it again.

Academy of Model Aeronautics National Model Aircraft Safety Code
    Effective January 1, 2014

2(c) Not fly higher than approximately 400 feet above ground level within three (3) miles of an airport without notifying the airport operator

    ETA:

FAA, AMA Work Together on Model Aircraft/UAS Safety

    January 13, 2014

    <snip>

The FAA-AMA pact is important because the 2012 FAA Reauthorization contained language specific to model aircraft. Congress mandated that the FAA cannot regulate model aircraft operated according to community-based standards developed by a national organization – a designation that AMA satisfies. Both the FAA and the aircraft modelers’ group believe jointly working to ensure continued safe operation of model aircraft will comply with the congressional directive.
