I’m trying to visualize it. So, a primer, gets jammed up in or around the gas key area? What kind of hangover Monday engineering is going on?

Did they get people from keltec involved?
The opening for the gas key is just the right size for a small rifle primer to wedge in

Damn I hope that doesn't happen with the SFAR's. The only Ruger AR I own, and it was cheap as hell, $500 bucks after trading them back one of their wonky Wranglers.
Gotta agree on the tight pins and weak staking on the (1) gas key The bolt head compared to an AR15 and a LFAR10 makes me go Hmm...

”Zack”, you seem both knowledgeable and sensible.

For this non-technical Old Guy, from the days of “Stoner’s”; should I buy the Ruger SFAR .308, or wait ? I’d just use it on feral hogs & for protection, not high volume range shooting.

My old 5.56 Ruger/Bushmaster seems to work OK after 20 years.

If you can swing it, the POF rouge is far more impressive. It only has one gas key screw, but the key itself is dovetailed into the carrier, and the one ive seen looked like thor did the staking

    Snap-Ring failure again?
    (messing with you again)

Does Ruger have way too much clearance between the portion of the bolt that holds the Snap Rings, and the bore of the carrier?

I have no idea, either the bolt is too small, or the bore of the BCG is too big. Or both.
