they need 21 votes to get it to the floor and then 16 to pass it. They are two votes shy of bringing it to the floor for a vote so it didn't get there today and may die unless they can find those two votes.

"The campuses included the University of Houston central campus, University of Houston-Downtown, San Jacinto College and Houston Community College. Gallegos said he also talked to the chancellors at each campus, and they also opposed the bill."

That is BS i go to San Jac and most of the people i have talked to, other than a few liberal proffs, are waiting for it to pass so they can stop leaving their guns in the car.

Ive already done it. They should assume that the diseased liberal professors would oppose it. Wow who would have thought. This was supposed to be about pumping what tiny bit of political logic into academia but no the libs have to shit all over it.

I will say it again, I cant get out of this liberal cesspool fast enough it makes me sick to my stomach. I don't even go to an extremely leftwing school either. Liberalism is an epidemic.

How did this pass the Senate 2 years ago? Is one sniveling coward really going to endanger the lives of thousands of students and faculty across our State?

Several former University of Texas students who survived the 1966 campus shootings by sniper Charles Whitman have testified against the bill. Jim Bryce was a 25-year-old Texas student when he was pinned down by Whitman's gunfire and saw three friend shots.
"I don't think we're on the frontier like my great-grandmother was," Bryce said.

    This pisses me off.

Really? You saw three of your friends get defenselessly pinned down and shot, and you don't want other people who may be put in that same situation to have a means to fight back?

Because Charles Whitman wouldn't have made his way up that clock tower if guns were banned from campuses... oh wait, they already were...

Nobody ever takes into consideration that people who intend to do you harm will not care if you can legally carry a weapon. I remember hearing, "Guns are bad," as a kid. I'm sure it has stuck with a lot of people, and that is the reason why people immediately assume anything dealing with guns is bad. In fact the other day I listened to some guy pass the people who were trying to raise awareness for campus carry and he made the comment, "Yeah, that's exactly what we need, more guns on campus." With which I looked at him and just shook my head.
