The Senate has voted down the gun control bill with 54 votes to 46.

That's a bit too narrow for my tastes, but a win is a win!

Since the Senate is Dem. controlled, it's a larger win than the numbers show.

Especially considering how weak the controls in the bill were to entice fence-sitters to climb down and vote for it. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt anything stronger has a chance of passing muster. Now is our time to celebrate a bit. Thank our Senators with letters and/or phone calls.

And don't forget to remember what's best in life. It ain't victory. It's overwhelming, humiliating, total victory:
