i have an amazing Rifle dynamics AK-105 that's every AK lover's dream that i am having a hard time contemplating parting with.
My reasoning is this:
7n6/5.45 became popular because of cheap surplus. Yeah, we still get the surplus, but it's eventually going to run out and there isn't a single manufacturer that's making new product 5.45. I have 2 cases of new production WOLF, but i bought that.....3 years ago and haven't seen it since. Paid $.17/shot for it on a sale, but will shooting be willing to cough up .20/shot + for the round?
If surplus dries up, will 5.45 be a thing of the past? I sort of thing so.
It does not seem to be a long term viable caliber since we'll be dependant on the russians to produce it and with the way the regime in this country is, banning ammo imports is probably something in their toolbox.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
