After my inter-web faux pas, I called and chatted with Jason for a while.

If I ordered today, I have a slim chance of getting an XT in a couple weeks, but most likely mid January.
I've arranged for several pig hunts between now and then.

Jason suggests I call around because he says there are stores who have them in stock.

Wow ... now that is a business man looking out for customer needs and not his immediate bank account balance.
He knows that he will get a lot of my business down the road, winning for the long haul.

Thanks for pointing me to this great business.

    ... should be flogged. :p

Jason was very attentive to me as a phone/online customer. I wish Tactical Gear Accessories | Emergency Preparedness Kits nothing but the very best.

A co-worker ordered one from Amazon and received it within 5 days.

But, Tactical Gear Accessories | Emergency Preparedness Kits is a Nacogdoches outfit. ;)

Couldn't wait, so's went through opticsplanet, got 12% off, too

What did OP tell you about delivery?

I was told it was in stock, I ordered, they hit my card and then a day later I received an e-mail telling me its backordered and ETA is 8 weeks.
Think I'm sticking with Jason from now on ...

That's exactly what I was about to ask. They have not been in stock at Optics Planet, but they keep stringing people along to get their money, and who knows how long their backorder list is. You're saving $20–$40 to gamble with the big retailer over giving your money to a Texan who will give you his personal phone number. Just ask Mitch how long they talked when he called. Jason does not require full payment to get on his list.

If you end up buying from Jason, tell him I (Ben) sent you, and send me a PM, because I will mail you a free set of 30mm rings I have sitting around. He's a good dude—the least I can do is try to steer him some business.

OP doesn't appear to have an inventory at all. My confirmation said my order had been sent a "fulfillment center" and when I called to cancel the order, the rep said that they submit to the vendor to get their money back and in turn, once received, I get mine.

When Jason and I talked, I told him about your post and test/review on-line. So he knows ...

    24 hours.

Only reason I went this route to begin with was because I was told it was in stock and I have pig hunts scheduled after Christmas.
