I rode the wave of $100 Yugo SKS's in 2004 - 2006.

What a ride it was...

I have had a bunch over the years. Down to one now. Its a Romanian I think. It came with an archangel stock, and I left it on there. I hated that I paid $200 for it after buying so many for $60 in the 80's and 90's.

Got a Yugo 4-5 years ago from a pawnshop on a whim. Real glad I did.

Got another Chinese Type 56. Commercial import. Really good condtion.

If they were still $100-$200 I'd have a few.

Even at $200 I'd buy 10 of them today.

I remember seeing these along with M1 carbines in cardboard barrels at the guns stores for $99 maybe less last time I saw them like that I bought a brand new 870 for $99

Yeah. Forgot to dig it up when I moved to TX.

I had a Russian one I bought in the early nineties. I put it in a Fiber Force Dragunov style stock and put a scope on it. It was a lot of fun withn 30 round magazines. Ended up trading it and some others for a Polaris Sportsman 335 for my son.

I bought two at $60... We were both idiots...

At the time, I'm sure I thought I was taking advantage of a good deal.

Similarly, I was new in Iowa City in 1985 and hadn't even got a paycheck yet, when I had a chance to buy a Rem 870 and a Mossberg 500, each for $50... Short on cash, I bought only the Rem and have kicked myself in the ass for nearly 40 years.

I have a long history of passing on good deals...
