I've got a Chinese Arsenal I picked up from an individual and a Yugo 59/66 I bought from Big 5 sporting goods in Marysville, WA CIRCA 2003 for $99.
The Yugo was rough. Soaked the stock in mineral spirits, did a little sanding, and rubbed it down with Tung oil.
I actually have no idea which one shoots better. I haven't shot either in a long time.

That may not sound like a good deal to some people who got them for under a $100, but that really not that bad of a price in today's world. Classic firearms is selling them for $429 before shipping and FFL transfer.

Honestly, if I could go and have the option to inspect them prior, I would probably pay $400. I wouldn't like it, but I probably would still go for it.

After about a week now with mine, I think they are worth every bit of $400 for an unissued one in excellent shape. This is a quality rifle and built like a tank!

I remember a video of a guy making a model rocket out of PVC and launching it with a Yugo 59/66 into the woods maybe 100 Meters????

I have some schedule 20 PVC that could use some fins, nosecone and a bulkhead for my 59/66. I have 2 boxes of 7.62X39 blanks.
Cheaper than Estes Model Rocket Engines??????????????????????

I bought them a few years ago from OMAHA SALVAGE in Fort Worth, 40 to a box.
I bought 2 boxes.

I got my scpoe and mount and rings from J G sales today and look very nice .
The scope and mount are from NcSTAR and the quality looks good .
Now to get it mounted and head for the range and do a report when done.
