That sucks Jeremy. Hope he feels better.

Five kids, one grandbaby, and an endless line of friends over. Yes, we are familiar with sick kids...........

    So, settled in now.

Had a great time today. Hitting plates and figuring drop was a breeze, till I went to the 400 yard target. That sumbitch gave me hell.

Finally found it and threw lead at the 500 yrd plate for a while before getting pissed off and jumping to the 600 yard plate. Found it with my last round of hand loaded ammo.

Switched to some Winchester match and after finding the difference at 400 went back and got the 5.

Course, hitting the 500 yard plate may have been easier if someone hasn't painted it the same color as the backstop, lol

Feel confident with my choice of a fixed 10X scope at this point. Higher magnification problem wouldn't have been much help other than increasing the mirage. Plate was easy to spot at 600.

And it was nice that only the really cool people were there:p

It was just really cool people there.

I deny any 500 yard paint knowledge........

So I am hooked. I gotta get some more ammo loaded up and head back out there. Definitely bringing some paint.

Let me know when you go, I'll do my best to make it if I'm not on call. Might try to rig up some stands for paper target to get a better idea of where the rounds are going.

You figure anything out when you went and looked at the plate?

P.S. Don't shoot long range with Younggun. He will get lucky and make hits out further than you, even with your own damn rifle.

Besides, I had to pay you back for all the shit talking while I was fighting with the 400 yard plate.

Also the long range shooting area needs help. Trying prone was futile. Too much grass in the way. And there are no benches out there.

We ended up shooting off the flatbed on my truck. It worked very well I thought. If anyone heads out there plan on bringing a bench or something.

Younggun's MINIVAN was no help in that department.

Well why in the hell did you show up then?

Lol Sounds like a great time. Is this your first time making it out to the long range?

Yup, qualified once way back with Scapps rifle but never went down there. Finally followed through and managed to qualify despite screwing up twice, lol.

My interest in long range got renewed today, had a blast.

How great did it feel to hit those 500 and 600 yard plates?

    Pretty awesome, right!

IF you really wanna try, you can probably get a used fixed power SWFA fixed power scope for a few hundred bucks or less.

Or qualify with somebody else's rifle so you can get hooked and feel OK about dropping a grand or so in a starter rifle and scope.
