I have no problem dropping some money on a scope...I just don't have the cash. I've been thinking about selling my 1911 though, and maybe I can pick up a decent scope for around $200 for playing around with. One day, I'd like to get a nice $300-$400 but I'm not dropping that kind of cash until I have a rifle and ammo that can keep up with the optic. :D

Boys doing ok. He was able to make it through the night last night without me needing to change the sheets, so that's good. He's just in a little pain. I'm hoping tomorrow we can have this knocked out so he can go back to school. I just found out I have a long trip to make next weekend so I need to go put some hours in and get some gas money earned.

You can probably find one in that price range, I'd still say look at used SWFA/vortex instead of cheap/new.

Need to have repeatable adjustments and going too cheap may cause trouble. SWFA has the cheapest quality scopes I've seen and it seems a lot of people start with the fixed power and sell and upgrade later.

Glad he's gettin better, nothin worse than having a dick kiddo.

Glad for ya, sounds like good times.

Imagine how rough it would have been if Dawico had sold that flatbed. ;)

Good to hear your son is doing better Jeremy.

Were it no for the flatbed, the whole thing may have been a bust.

Laying on the ground only a couple of targets were visible. Even then it would have meant shooting through grass to hit them.

So, Dawico will not be selling the flatbed as it is vital to long range shooting success.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one unless the donations are right.........

If I end up with time this week I will see if I can put some platforms together to leave out there. Something is definitely needed.

They HAD two tables out there WITH sleds. I don't know what happened or if he's in the middle of making new ones.

All I ever did was dump in it but have yet to use the compost. This industrial shelving has been o/s for many years and there's hardly any rust. The large panels are roughly 2'-8" x 6'-2" and would need support runners. I also have quite a few T-posts available.
Let me know if JD / you are interested, I may be in the area this month.

    Ha!

Goin over my notes and messin with the ballistic calculator, seems the Speer BC that I didn't trust was actually pretty close. Probably woulda saved me a lot of ammo on that 400 yard plate.

The right bullet data was dead on with my notes. Who'd a thunk it.

Well, after adding 500fps to compensate for chony data at 65* and shooting when it was 90*. Gonna need some more range time to get temp changes hammered out.

May do some testing on that this summer.

Picked up some white and orange paint for next time. Definitely going to be handy at those ranges.

I will give JD a call before I get too serious about building platforms or anything. See if he has something set up already.

Thanks buddy. Will let you know. I do have access to some pressure treated lumber too.

Just need to see my schedule and what JD has in mind (if anything).

I plan on spending some time on that range so it will be worth it.

Figured white on the target and orange on the backer. Targets are white now but the backer is unpainted. Easy to see where hits on target are but very hard to tell where the misses went. Swinging targets are 6"x6" or so with a 3'x2' backer piece of steel. Nice to be able to see misses from the bench.

Also the long range shooting area needs help. Trying prone was futile. Too much grass in the way. And there are no benches out there.

We ended up shooting off the flatbed on my truck. It worked very well I thought. If anyone heads out there plan on bringing a bench or something.

Younggun's MINIVAN was no help in that department.

    Minivan?!

unless it had mounts for a Ma Deuce, its a loser cruiser.
