Which is the better 9mm; XDs mod 1 or mod 2. I held the mod 1 and I really like it, but I heard they were all recalled a while back. Has that been completely fixed by now or should I consider the mod 2? xds-mod2-9mm-new-vs-old-right.jpg

I'm pretty sure the roll pin on the grip in front of the grip safety is evidence of the new design after the recall. Both mod 1 and mod 2 are great guns. I personally like the mod 2 better. The mod 1 grip texture dug into my fingers on my firing hand. Talon grips solved the issue for me. I, personally, never could shoot that gun particularly well though. Mine had a trigger pull of 8lbs.

Nothing that a little range time couldn't solve.

The firearms are the same, comes down to personal preference over Grip and sights; or if you’re like me and already have night sights and prp trigger components and springs on your bi-tone XDS .45 3.3, then there is no contest.

How heavy is the mod 2 trigger?

I did hear some people say the mod 1 trigger is horrible. Is the mod 2 trigger better?

XDS 45 is one of my 2 carry arms. No issues at all with mine and I have no issue with the trigger. Mine is post recall of the original.

I'm willing to bet the trigger is the same. I haven't had the opportunity test the trigger pull on a mod 2. I did hold one and thought the grip was a great improvement.

I have an original XDs with the unmodified trigger. Honestly, the "recall" was overhyped, and I just wasn't bothered.

It may be a factor if I ever try to sell it, but since I don't part with my firearms, again I'm not bothered.

Go to a gun store or show and handle both. Whichever feels better, buy that one.

    Cheers! M2
