    It is a shame that the industry and its marketing has caused us to lose sight of the fact that the mission is what should be driving the gear purchase.

    I don't really have a mission though.
    I just want to walk out of the woods alive. Most of the time, it don't take much.

    Look, I'm not a hypocrite. I am a gear queer as much as any guy. I just tried to have a use for the stuff and then train with it.

    And I do own a tomahawk. And use it. Other than hunting camo, not much else.
    I'd like some NV, but budget is tight with one in college. Someday.

    And for those who really need the gear, there are now lots of good options.

    Entrepreneurs win and legit operators win.
