    Nouakchott, Mauritana to Lagos, Nigeria.
    On foot.
You can have two firearms, available at the time, as your weapons and for taking game to eat.
You are allowed 1200rds of ammo total.
You already have a team of porters for carrying gear. You will need to feed them.

What would your firearm choices be?

Great hypothetical question for a specific era. Would like to see more of these but I know just a little about weapons from this time. Looking over the responses and doing a little quick research I would select these: Model 94 Winchester in 30-30 & Colt 1911

You're going to get stomped or eaten. .30-30 isn't much good on heavy African game.

There was a guy on the internet like 10 years ago asking if a mosin was going to be good for hunting hippos.. YES HIPPOS... 7.62 x 54R isn't a big enough caliber to kill rhinos or hippos, but it should be large enough to take down any other animal in Africa.. THAT BEING SAID.... its a 459 hour walk.. That's 19.125 days of walking.

Much of it in the Sahel ( ) and Savannah ( ) With the rest being in the sub tropical rain forest.... So what is the biggest threat? Man, Hippos, Gorillas? No... It's these things.

Malaria carrying mosquitos... in 1921 you're probably going to die of Malaria more than a hippo, lion, or any other mammals. Also your path (luckily) doesn't cross the Nile or any other major rivers, so no worry about crocs.
