Thinking of selling an AR before the election

Don't sell it before the election, wait and see if she actually does win. Then between her winning and taking office or trying to enact gun legislation things will sky rocket. Remember laws DO NOT go into place over night. I'm holding on to anything and everything until she signs something. That's when the mad scramble will happen!

Guys.....come on! Do you really think that Uncle Sugar has the resources to come and take your AR-15 rifles? If 320 million American Patriots stand up and say "F You, we won't comply", the little sweeties can bust all of us?

I worked in the TDCJ Institutional Division prisons and have some familiarity with the Federal Lockups. Locking up people like us for rifle law non-compliance is stupidly impossible!

They will do what the IRS has always done. They hammer a little Granny for not paying tax on the sale of her spinning wheel. Then they'll beat some kid for profits made on his lemonade stand. They do those things publicly and the rest of us fall in line out of fear.

There are millions of old farts who aren't afraid, don't give a rats butt and have nothing to lose. Wonder how that's going to fly when the blue helmets come to force them into submission?

Army 1911, kindly add me to your Patriot count. I was RA in the Army during the draft time. Volunteered for Vietnam. Bought an AR-15 a few years ago out of nostalgia. And I'm voting for Trump. As to the OP waiting. Crazy not to. You AR is not going to lose value in two months if Trump is elected. If Hillary wins (excuse me, I just threw up a little), fear of a new "assault weapons ban" will drive up demand like in 2008, maybe worse. Value will go up, although, you may decide then that you don't want to sell. I'm keeping mine, and a bought a bolt action 5.56mm Ruger American Ranch rifle, just to hedge in case demand forces me to sell my AR at an indecent profit. I'll have the bolt action to use my 5,000 rounds of 5.56 and .223.

Roger, I'm one of those old farts, I think (Vietnam vet.) I'll bet those blue helmets really stand out in a Leupold rifle scope. I'm pretty sure that after a couple hundred are punctured by .308's, they'll be scurrying back to Europe to try and make peace with the muslims who have taken their countries. The feds really can't come and take our AR's, but what they can do is make it so we can't take an AR to a shooting range or use it in a competition. They can make them illegal for hunting anything. They can offer a reward for turning in an AR owner (like they could now for illegals but choose not to.) In short, they can make the AR like an unlicensed machine gun. You can secretly own it, but that's all, so only criminals will be able to use an AR.

Bottom line is that we need to get every gun owner in America to realize that Hillary wants their guns to be illegal. They must vote Trump to prevent a 7-2 liberal Supreme Court from destroying the Constitution and our nation. 100 million gun owners can swing this election.

They're not going to come and take them. They're going to go and ban them, piece by piece. Then you won't ever take it out in public again. That's exactly what happened in Connecticut, and everyone just hides their guns. But come and take 'em!
Or, after said ban, you could always go with a few other Constitutionally minded friends to the range. If the police try to take you to jail, you could make a citizen's arrest against the police for treason against the Constitution and their oaths. That is what it would take to keep your freedom.
