This.Great job by the Garland PD. Police have had enough bad press lately, nice to see good press recognizing their bravery and proficiency.
Your right he was with the officer. Sorry my bad.Are you sure? Most news outlets are reporting that he was unarmed.
I'm all for free speech but why hold an event whose only purpose is to insult a group of people. I'm glad the police were prepared (reportedly had 40 officers there and ready) for this and only the shooters are dead.
The officer probably had a military grade pistol with a full banana clip of cop-killer bullets. This will bring about a whole new discussion on how easy it is to get body armor. Only terrorists and crooks need body armor, gotta make it harder to get....................not that it did much good in this case, TG.
Offending Christians with "art" depicting Mary as a whore; the cross covered in feces is OK and should be tolerated by all. Offending Tea Party members by calling them Tea Bagger is to be tolerated. Offending Republicans by comparing them to Nazis is to be tolerated. But having a cartoon contest should be reconsidered cause it offends a whole group of people. Holy hell should Dilbert be reconsidered cause it offends U.S. corporate flunkies?? How about a polish jokes? Blond jokes? Should comedians reconsider telling dyke jokes?? Or maybe we should only reconsider events that piss off people with violent tendencies? So basically you're for free speech as long as it doesn't piss off people who are irrational nut jobs (the terrorist not all Muslims). Isn't that a "space to destroy" type comment? Maybe folks who are opposed to gay marriage should stop the costly legal battles and jump to fire bombing the next gay wedding. Or maybe instead of suing the government to seal the southern border people should just light up the nearest Mexican food joint. Your "but" implies that we should stifle the right to free speech if that speech could cause some asshat to loose their temper and have a fit. Essentially you're suggestion that we allow terrorism to work as a justifiable means to negotiate. I'm pretty sure that isn't what you or anyone wants.
The Curtis Culwell Center is owned by GISD but is not a school. While the CCC is located adjacent to Naaman Forest High School, it is not on the physical premises. PC 46.03 would only apply on those days the facility was holding a school function such as AP Testing or Graduation Ceremonies.2. The building hosting the event is a gun-free zone per Texas law v(school property).
Whats up with Texas cops taking out bad guys with handguns!! First in Austin where the cop shot the guys some like 100 yards away with a handgun, now a Garland cop takes out 2 guys with rifles using his handgun.
Not sure how they are training but keep it up.

What kept the 200-odd attendees at the facility gun free last night was PC 30.06 which is permanently posted at the facility.

Both are chic's
Maybe this is why they train so well with handguns?
Both are chic's
Since the facility is owned by a government entity, 30.06 is non-applicable
You sure about that?? I thought the whole point of an ISD was to be non-govt? Does the school lease the bldg from the state or something?Since the facility is owned by a government entity, 30.06 is non-applicable
