I must admit that I only use TGT for buying and selling weapons. That said, I wish the classified section was broken down by sprcific cities or areas of the state. Many times I have to contact the seller to find out where they are, before I can decide to purchase the weapon, or not.

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for?
Contacting my friends and meeting new friends. We've arranged many range trips by using TGT as a meeting point.

I learned about Political things here until that was stopped. I had NEVER been involved in politics until I joined TGT.

I can buy and sell things here and can evaluate my buyer/seller by his participation in TGT. That ability allows a layer of security that is not available to me elsewhere. I could do that in Ebay and some other sites but the suckers are expensive and take any incentive away.

I don't sell to make a profit. I sell to get rid of things that I don't need by setting a low price then recycling items that someone else may need. After more than 50 years of fooling with firearms, I have LOTS of "stuff" and much of it is no longer used. TGT helps me recycle those items. I buy things for the same reason. I get interested in a new facet of the Shooting Sports and I can get the new things the same way. TGT allows me to do that. On a fixed income, that opportunity is extremely valuable to me.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk?
I miss the buyer/seller feedback. I worked very hard to get a positive rating then it simply went away. I checked the rating when I conversed or dealt with others and still use the post count for that. Those are ways that I can identify responsible people on the 'Net and make me less vulnerable to scams. I can trust a long term member not only in buying or selling but in exchange of views. We should be able to establish credibility by our correct behavior. That's gone, now.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why?
I live in a rural area where information is sparse. I got a lot of my political ideas and information from this site as I could trust the people who provided it. The print, audio and video media sources are all lying manipulative and self serving sources of information. From my perspective, you slammed the door on truth. Surely, there is a way to exchange ideas without resorting to bans or prohibitions.

I was one of the folks who was heavily into this site. I gained a lot by being here and participating in the discussions and changed a lot of my long standing attitudes because of it. The TGT changes were made to satisfy the whiners and complainers without regard to people who were truly benefiting from the site. A few people bitching shut down the majority of members who were actually participating and sharing views.

I hang out in the Harley sites, now. Bikers are much less apt to whine about a word or phrase that offends them.

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do?
I want to be able to delete old, unused pictures from my portfolio/media. Many pics are unused or out of date but I am unable to delete them. I asked for help in that but have been unsuccessful. Deleting the old pics would clean up a lot of space that is now being wasted and allow me to keep current pics posted.

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here?
Lively discussion about issues. I learned a Hell of a lot here when things were rolling, got into political issues, checked out politicians and learned about BS scams. I voted yesterday after checking out all of the issues and all of the candidates. I NEVER got into the process like that before as I hated political things so completely. TGT is absolutely responsible for that change. I like it here but now it has become less interesting. You slammed the door on a major attraction for me. Things are peaceful and quiet now..................... but so is a tomb.

I omitted the rest of the questions. I do not participate in any social media sites. I see those as a real threat to my personal security and avoid them like the plague.

    Changes

    1) I'm working to improve the user experience and usability of the forum. I'm going to be making changes to the advertising system to help speed up the site for mobile and those of us not on broadband. This has the side effect of being more advantageous for the advertisers as well. The first step of this was taken a few months ago when we migrated to a faster server.

Not sure that will benefit me.

    2) I've rolled out a commission system for anyone whom wants to make some side-cash. More info can be found here: Make Extra Cash, Support TGT

I worked on a review of the new Ruger SR22p that took several weeks to complete. I was told that it was well written and informative but I never heard a word about it. I thought is was a good contribution about a very new pistol on the market. What does it take to be recognized as a contributor? There was an incentive system a while back. What happened to it?

    3) I purchased some additional software to integrate Facebook as well as mobile versions of the site for iOS (Apple) and Android. I will be rolling these out as soon as I can get the uploaded and setup.

Thanks, but that won't help me.

Everything is OK as far as I'm concerned. Contrary to some current and popular beliefs, things do not have to change to be better. It's working very well and is growing. Be careful not to "fix" something that is not broken. Just my two bits. Thanks for asking our advice.

I fail to find fault with Texas Gun Talk as it is, but good improvement is great. Ours is one of the few remaining gun forums where a person can speak their
mind without stumbling in the ever encroaching briars and vines of the Federal peecee garbage. Sure there are limits which within bounds we must stay but Our Forum is the Greatest !

I kinda drifted away when POLITICS was eliminated. Kept the juices flowing. I do not participate in the social networks. I've already been hacked once, and it is a PITA to get straightened out. They just add to the chances. I enjoy 1911's and I have several High Standards. I admire rifles with beautiful wood stocks. The military type rifles do not interest me. They are ugly. I even sold my M-1, although they are great rifles.

    1) What do you use Texas Gun Talk for?
Mostly to be social with other gun loving Texans. Whether it's discussing actual guns, or more often (for me, anyway) shooting the shit online with each other.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk? The ability to leave positive or negative feedback for sales or trades.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why? I don't know anything about running a site. I'll admit that right out of the box! But I'd implement some much stronger security (if that wasn't done already). Why?: It was very disconcerting to me when we got hacked! I think that stupid little stunt really hurt us with a lot of people. I honestly think the site has had a different atmosphere since!

    4) Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do? No, and no.

    5) Is there something on another forum that you enjoy that you'd like to see here? I don't frequent any other forums, so I don't have a point of view for this.

    6) Have you liked us on Facebook? Absolutely! ...I think.

    7) Have you followed us on Twitter? I have no desire for twitter. Facebook is enough for me.

    8) Have you subscribed to us on YouTube? I'll look. If I haven't yet, I'll make a point to.

    9) Have you linked to me on LinkedIn? Not on LinkedIn.

    10) Have you +1'd us on Google+? I really haven't been back to Google+ since I joined and found Dan, Anastasia, and a few others. I guess it bored me real quick. Next time I log back on, I'll make a point to "+1" TGT.

    2) What do you feel is missing from Texas Gun Talk?
Politics. While I realize it's a touchy subject and it's easier to just kill any mention of it from a moderation standpoint, it's part of life and especially being a gun owner. There are some pretty astute minds on this board and killing their input has made this board a lot less vital to me. Where else are Texan Gun Owners supposed to go if they want to hash out political questions of the day? I am an armed Texan, I can ignore some words if they offend me on a monitor. Personally, I would like to see this place become the M4C for Texas gun owners. OK, maybe a little less serious than that.

    3) If you were in control of the site, what changes would you make and why?
    See #2.

    Nothing I can think of.

7~10) No, don't use any of them regularly.

I would like to say that my impression of this board is that the staff is always trying to improve it. You see so many boards that just run without any real input other than a heavy ban stick. I would like to see the sig pics killed, I get tired of mousing past the same damned pic over and over. Same deal with animated avatars, they distract from the content. All that aside, this is a great board and if it died there would be a huge hole in my online travels. My thanks to all that provide it.

Those are ways that I can identify responsible people on the 'Net and make me less vulnerable to scams. I can trust a long term members not only in buying or selling but in exchange of views. We should be able to establish credibility by our correct behavior. That's gone.

+1 for this. This is one of the main reasons I chose this site to interact and communicate with others as well as buy and sell items without the fear of being ripped off. Most firearms sites have similar opportunities as TGT. However, many don't have the sophisticated yet easy to use feedback system as this one. Now it's gone which is EXTREMELY disappointing. Now it's just like those firearms sites that have nothing to deter scammers.

    Please bring it back!

I don't think Tapatalk knows how to handle required reading. It wouldn't connect for me this morning until I used a browser to read the required thread.

    2) I've rolled out a commission system for anyone whom wants to make some side-cash. More info can be found here: http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/announcements-comments/34143-make-extra-cash-support-tgt.html

    3) I purchased some additional software to integrate Facebook as well as mobile versions of the site for iOS (Apple) and Android. I will be rolling these out as soon as I can get the uploaded and setup.
