Do you feel the forum is difficult to use? Is there anything you'd like to know how to do?

IMO, too many categories (for thread topics) with too few number of new posts makes navigating more difficult.
EX: Five different classified sections > one would do.

IMO, when there is a lot of activity (several pages per day for example) then it makes sense to sort out the interest.
When on a post or two per day then combine it with similar interest.
This would make daily reading much easier, IMO.

Quality not quantity from my point of view.

Y'all are some pretty funny guys. I just hope you know what you're talking about with guns because I read the forum for advice. Although I'd quit reading if the posts weren't so funny.

PS: I don't read like a newspaper. I search for specific stuff, so the layout, etc., doesn't bother me either way. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Simply put, I'd like to see trader ratings and political discussions brought back.
Trader ratings help us to be secure in transactions which will only increase participation, and political discussions are important for many obvious reasons in addition to the fact that law abiding gun owners are the kind of people that should absolutely be interested and involved and discussion with like minded folks is important to share in deeper understanding of issues and candidates that others may have.

I like the site the way it is and I think it is really easy to use.
If I would add anything it would be a quick link that shows up on every page, along with "new post", "pm", "faq" area that gives us quick access to all threads we have posted in and then the ability to search all those post without searching the rest of the site at the same time.

Two ways, you can go to your UserCP and make sure you are subscribing to threads. If so, it will pop up a list of threads when you go to your UserCP.

Secondly, you can go to "MyProfile" in the upper right hand of the forum and on the left under your picture are two choices; "View threads created by user" and "View posts by user."

I'll try to work on a button, need to figure that one out.

It would be nice if I had a few more letters for my title(senier member, aka:youngin', etc). The one I originally put in was too long so it cut the last word off, but I'm just knit pickin.

    Changes

    1) I'm working to improve the user experience and usability of the forum. I'm going to be making changes to the advertising system to help speed up the site for mobile and those of us not on broadband. This has the side effect of being more advantageous for the advertisers as well. The first step of this was taken a few months ago when we migrated to a faster server.

    2) I've rolled out a commission system for anyone whom wants to make some side-cash. More info can be found here: http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/announcements-comments/34143-make-extra-cash-support-tgt.html

    3) I purchased some additional software to integrate Facebook as well as mobile versions of the site for iOS (Apple) and Android. I will be rolling these out as soon as I can get the uploaded and setup.

I use TGT for gun information. There are a lot of expert opinions that are quite helpful. Texas is known the world over as the number 1 gun enthusiast State and I pray that it stays that way.

It might also be good to post more of home defense procedures with pistols, shotguns and AR's. I recently installed CCTV's (security cameras) around the house due to a previous attempted break-in. Believe it or not I live in a village with private security roving around and at the village gates and they can't do sh...t.

    More power to TGT!

I think we've got some of that in the pipeline. As with anything it's simply taking the time to get it done.

Pappy's response (quoted below) perfectly summarizes my own opinions regarding TGT. If the braying and general 9th grade locker-room tenor herein were moderated more effectively, a more substantive and intelligent dialogue might emerge.

I mainly use tgt for social and information. I take breaks from tgt a couple of months off and on because I get burned out. No offense to ya'll. Its a great site. I use other sites on specific rifles (ak's,ar's,uzi etc) because of the classified section being much larger than it is here. My main focus is on semi auto mil surplus rifles and pistols and their history/wars. I do miss the political section but, I talk about it else where.

I think yall do a great job on here and hopefully TGT continues to grow!
