I will not relax about this until the election is over and an actual conservative is in office.

We have to keep in mind that those on this board look at things much differently than a large percentage of the population.

Even I have family members who I can say may vote for Davis. Both of my parents detest Rick Perry and I had a couple of discussions with my dad concerning the recent abortion debate.

We actually could come to some agreements once I dug past the media BS but most people do not look beneath the scum floating on top of the water to see what is actually underneath.

The progressive libs will tell any lie and manipulate any situation then splatter it across every news broadcast in the state. Most will not look past that.

The "abortion debate" will not be that, it will become a women's rights debate. There are a lot of votes to be lost if that strategy succeeds.

Yes, Wendy Davis has a chance, thinking otherwise is foolish. I KNEW Obama could not win reelection. I don't want to suffer another disappointment like that.

I have a feeling this will be an uncomfortably close election.

And you do not think the RNC is doing all it can to hold Texas?

At the end of the day, so what? What exactly can we do? Nothing really that we are not already doing. The demographics and wants of the NATION are changing, and we cannot stop that.

So if the Nation wants socialism then let them have it. We will take Texas and the "nation" can kiss our asses. Those in Texas that want socialism will be given free rides across the border.

Based on that media piece....she has just guaranteed a Republican win. One has to wonder if she is on the Abbot payroll, as I can not think of any other reason she would make statements that would insure her losing the race.
Well, the vast majority of the people that would vote for her would agree with that position. Many others would be single issue voters that would vote for her on the abortion issue regardless of if they agree with her other positions or not. The rest would vote for her because they hate republicans... I don't think this statement will actually hurt her at all, but at least her position is clear. Either way she only has a slim chance of winning, but she does guarantee that this will be a very expensive race.

The left is pumping big dollars into organizations in an attempt to take control of this state, See (Battleground Texas). These groups are well funded, well organized, and highly motivated. Don't be fooled into thinking she has a snowballs chance in hell of winning this election. OUTSIDE THIS FORUM there are many more liberal and potential liberals in this state than we'd care to acknowledge. It will be a close race indeed but I'm not completely confident that it will be in our favor, but I have hope.

Being the good combat soldier I am, I subscribe to 'Battleground Texas to stay on top of what Wendy and the LibTards are up to, and you are 100% right in your assessment.

Do not think this forum does not have its share of Wendy and LibTard supporters along with those living in denial we have any problems on here. I have been waving the flag for all to see on here since I have been on and more than once I have been ATTACKED by a few on here telling me I was seeing ghosts and hobgoblins and making up conspiracy theories..."there ain't no liberals, nothing to see or worry about". Wonder where Mr East Texas is at now? Have not seen his liberal azz on here in a while, maybe busy with Wendy's campaign...

Abbott has a crazy amount of money already and liberals aren't the only ones pumping money into this campaign. Neo-cons/conservatives and libertarians will pile money into the Attoney general's account by the dump truck load.

There are times when the dems had a shot at the gov's mansion....this won't be one of them. Wendy is a sacrificial lamb that is using this election to gain some facetime in front of the cameras for a possible future political appointment. She herself knows that this is all a exercise in futility, that may reap her some benefits down the road.

I didn't see how Obama could LOSE in the last election. A fractured Republican base and more people on the government tit than at anytime in our history means a Republican win (for the White House) anytime in the near future is highly unlikely. With the implementation of Obama care and Repubs vowing to get rid of it, it means we are even less likely to ever take White House back. Next to impossible to take away an entitlement once the public gets used to having it.

I believe at this time Rand Paul is the only one that would role back the non constitutional programs

She is a placeholder for Julian Castro, Mayor of SA. He has the best shot at it is my guess, but needs some more time to jell up and build his base.

He has won the Mayor chair a few times now, but there is a little secret or they want to keep it secret is how many votes he actually got last time around... in fact want to see some SPIN. Google the election results and you will almost only get news plaudits about his 3rd LANDSLIDE election, winning by stagging % IIRC about 70% of the votes and of course he walks on water and his kids are the smartest in town.

Then sobber up on how many votes he REALLY got: 29,449 votes out of a city of 2 MILLION, yea he is a powerhouse: Our Campaigns - San Antonio Mayor Race - May 11, 2013

I see your points and agree with you for the most part. All I'm saying is that people are to quick to write her off as though the election is a done deal and Abbot is a shoe in. "The times, they are a changin" with our ever increasing influx of the Hispanic population it brings with it more solid democratic support. The libs know this and seek to take advantage of that in hopes to break the Republican strong hold on Texas. This is the left we're talking about, they're gonna play women's rights, the race card, insure entitlements and launch personal attacks all while spewing their lies and manipulative rhetoric. We have our fair share of "low information voters" and they will eventually fall prey to the liberal agenda.

Grates me she had the nerve to make her announcement in my home town. While I was at work 20 miles away. Yeah, she stands a chance. All that outside money coming in and no incumbent. So far her only real call to fame is her standing up for murdering the unborn: at an age where they'd live if born pre mature. I'd like to ask her if she's proud of that. A thin resume. All we here can hope is that the GOP picks a good candidate. And that he don't step on his own 3rd leg running. Because all that slavish media coverage is hers. She doesn't even have to try hard.
