And grenade launcher. Definitely a Yugo 59/66. Chinese didn't adopt the SKS until 1956. Which is why they are referred to as a Type 56.

It is DEFINITELY NOT YUGO, It's CHINESE. I might have the date wrong. Instead of 1955 - 1956, it might have read..1956 / 1957, but I don't think so. If I get the urge, I "might" check the date again, but then again, I might not.

The Chinese grenade launchers were clip on type units, that's definitely a Yugoslavian rifle.

The middle rifle is what a real SKS looks like.
A Chinese SKS made in 1954. Number
    0,000,000,0004 of 4,000,000,000

It's Yugo M59/66 likely made in the '70s and they didn't make 4M of them, quarter million or so. Also Yugo's are the only SKS with rubber butt pads.
Looks like a Williams. If you take out the aperture you can use it like ghost rings, very quick to acquire, PAX

Yugo rifles are way cooler than chinese. Not trying to argue with you about it, but I'm willing to bet it says made in Yugoslavia or Serbia depending on when it was imported. No Chinese SKS's were imported like that, but maybe someone took Yugo parts and fitted them onto a Chinese receiver. Unlikely though.

Sks barrels are easy to remove if pressed or threaded. I would love to see such a thing just out of curiosity.

And the little research I've done, I'm pretty sure that the receivers for the pinned barrels have the right size hole, that they could be tapped to take a threaded barrel.
Although I would only attempt this if going with a custom barrel, where the gas port, etc., would be put in after the barrel was installed.

Pops, did someone tell you it was Chinese? Is it using fitted Chinese parts?

When I got the SKS I googled the S N and it brought up Chinese. The web site stated that it was made in China in 1956 thru 1957 and is #4 of 4 MIL. That's what I've been going by.

I found out today, that China made their 1st SKS in 1954 using parts from Russia and made a little under 500,000.

I don't really care who made it. I just know that it's a sweet shooter and I can hit what I'm aiming at

What problems have you had ? With the trigger??? How is it to load? Did you shoot it before the barrel chop?
I want to say gross but, have you seen the tavor?
I'll bet you browser history is wild! Midget and animal porn all around for sure.

Not I haven't shot it yet. I assembled it then decided to use a vertical fore grip and had to wait for it to ship but it came just as I had to leave for Idaho for my summer gig. A Tavor is nice but $pendy, I'm into it for the price of the SARCO barreled receiver, $90 bucks I traded Yugo 59/66 furniture for the Shernic kit and the muzzle on the SARCO action was damaged, the chop job saved the barrel. I really don't care for it that much, but here in Kali I should be able to get bank for it. It has a fixed 10 round mag so it can have evil features and still be in compliance. PAX

I cut it to 18.5" on purpose in case the next guy decides he would rather have a more conventional stock. As I mentioned I added the longer Ramline brake to stay legit on the OAL. PAX

The trigger is actually better than the stock TG. It loads with stripper clips. I have a Marcus mag adapter but an SKS with detachable mags are a no-go in Kali PAX

BTW this isn't my onliest SKS.I have around 30, Russian, Albanian, Yugoslavian, Romanian and Chinese including commercial Bubbas (Paratroopers) and a couple other home grown Bubbas. Over the last few years I've sold 13 SKS rifles. I can't figure out how to download pictures off my phone or I'd post them. Nice ones, PAX
