What caliber is your “Primary” EDC firearm?

I usually carry the 9MM performance center shield. Easier to conceal, (I always carry concealed when out and about) lighter to carry in the Texas heat, and better round count. I have been carrying my Hellcat here lately tho. Better round count and smaller package then the shield. My old tired eyes seem to pick up the sights better on the hellcat as well.

That fat slow 45 is more likely to bounce than a high speed smaller dimension 9. Although neither should bounce off flesh. Just saying the logic is flawed.

Why did you choose this caliber, was it for the size of the platform or the effectiveness of the round?

Cuz in me old age, arthritis won't let me practice with .41Mag.

.380 suits me fine. As someone without particularly meaty hands, managing recoil is higher priority for me than caliber size. I’d rather hit with a ‘weaker’ round than miss with a more powerful one due to strong recoil.

Why did you choose this caliber, was it for the size of the platform or the effectiveness of the round?

I carry a Kimber Pro Covert custom shop because I am most familiar with the 1911 platform. My alternate is a Sig P365 customized 9mm for it's reduced print and 12 round mags
These are no better than any other quality well maintained firearm, just the two that suit me best.

.25 ACP - Raven pistols are so good I carry them eight at a time. That way once I've confused an assailant by shooting him with a few .25 caliber rounds, I can injure him by throwing the pistol at his head...and that still leaves me able to have seven follow-ups if necessary.

Mentioned this before but Glock 17. Backup is a Glock 45. Have plenty of 17 mags for both.

Aside from a few other handguns I’m only interested in owning glocks and 1911’s at this point for carry.

The 17 is for work and I’ll edc it too.

Currently carrying 9mm. Have carried 45, 40 and 38 in the past but I always end up back at 9. That may change if I ever get my hands on a 10mm though.

Carry what is easiest to draw and most accurate with. One can argue what's cheapest to shoot or carries the most rounds, but for me it's probably the first round that counts the most.

My choice? S&W 1911 Commander Performance Center chambered in .45acp.

Glock 29 in 10mm. It’s been doing the job for me just fine since 04 or 05.

Just realized my main squeeze, a 1st gen Glock 21 is now 21... still OEM... did a bit of polishing though.

My EDC for the longest time was a M&P40c (40S&W) with +2 mag extension and backup 15 rd mag (with xgrip collar)

This winter I switched to M&P 10mm.
I'm a bigger guy, and I love the way this gun shoots for me.

We'll see if I go back to a compact when the heat starts...
