What gun did you buy today?

I had a full stainless Kimber in my hands at the store that was $250 more and had night sites that I have no use for and cheaper black rubberized plastic grips
I actually liked the bi-tone look better with the wood grips so I used the money saved had them install the Truglo TFX, which I do like a lot

There was some discussion as to the metal of the frame on the Kimber I bought. It sure looks and feels stainless, but could it be aluminum?

It's aluminum. Take it completely apart, clean it real well, and properly grease/oil it. I had to do that before mine would run. Now no problem. Same for the 22 conversion if you have it. Clean it well or it won't run. My experiences.

Yeah, I've handled some Kimbers.

My sister-in-law worked for them for about a decade. I could have gotten them at employee pricing. I never bought one.

True, all stainless steels have iron in it and the higher carbon stainless is used in machining gun parts.
