I picked up a SS Rossi R92 chambered in 357/38. I've been wanting one for a while and grabbed it for 605+shipping. Also have 3 Texas edition m4e1 lowers waiting for me at the local FFL. I decided to finally piece together one for a White oak upper that's been collecting dust.

Actually, I bought it yesterday, but it won't arrive until Friday, fingers crossed.
I got an almost new Blackhawk in .41 magnum off GB... 4 5/8" barrel, blued, with custom made maple burl grips.
I will post pics when it arrives..... If I wasn't such a tough guy, I'd admit to being excited as a kid on Christmas eve....

The colt is well used, which is a shame because it’s semi-valuable. Debating if I should restore it, customize it, or just let it bask in it’s worn glory. Apparently it was a LE carry gun.

Yes I do... reload, cast, I have all the bad habits. Well, except swaging.... I don't swage.

I really appreciate the offer... very nice of you.. I ordered 100 from Midway, along with dies... and have a mold coming off fleabay.... hopefully that will get me started.

I used to have all that stuff, not too long ago...... well, actually, it WAS a long time ago... back in the mid 80's or so...

my memory is not nearly as good as I remember it being....

It’s gouged up pretty good, sad for a MKIV and yeah, I much prefer a set of classic medallion grips.

good thing about stainless.... a short session with someone talented at beadblasting, and you're good to go....
That's a nice 1911... barely broken in...

It's funny..... I saw a really nice used Kimber at the FTW gunshow last weekend, at a relatively decent price.... and it had "Punisher" grips on it....
That's the first thing I said...... "those grips would have to go...."
Personally, I like stippled or checkered ebony....

I think i've got a couple sets of old rubber colt grips that look a little better. but may eventually get a nice lighter tone wood. we'll see.
I may start customizing it since it's so worn... why not. All my other 1911s are very lightly used and in good condition. Might as well play with this one.

As promised.... it arrived today.. I'll have to figure out how to get a pic that really shows the complexity of the grain in these grips... this is a really nice Blackhawk. I don't know if it's even been fired....
