More stuff for the M&P 15-22 build.

Voulquartsen firing pin, extractor, compensator and SLR Rifle Works billet finger stop. I bought my Voulquartsen carbon barrel for a nice discount as an open box item from Optics Planet, it was just missing the firing pin and extractor. Even with buying these pieces separately I still came out way cheaper.

Just a few more pieces and I'll be ready to strip it down for Cerakote. All the upgrades made a huge change to this rifle, it feels rock solid in the hand yet light.

I wish you were closer I'd love to compare it to my stock M and P 15-22.. I'd be curious to see how it shoots!

Getting rid of the flimsy handguard and stock were the biggest improvements. Like another poster commented, it just didn't feel right before, like it was too light or loose. I have a target set up on my wall for dry fire practice, I can now lock onto it with ease without wandering around unlike before. It feels more like my M4E1 now, rock solid. Most of that is due to the grip from the thicker handguard I now have. I'm going to do some testing after I get the barrel broken in, I'm sure there'll be an improvement in accuracy although it was quite accurate to begin with. I don't expect it to morph into a competition gun, it's just an AR after all but I'm sure it will be easier to shoot accurately especially after I drop in a 2lb trigger.

    Gunz are icky.
Today a new mag loader showed up.
    This one comes from SpeedBeez.
Thought it would be interesting to try it against the old UpLula.

Size wise it’s larger. It’s made of polymer so it is quite lightweight.

The mag snaps into the unit like it does in your handgun. In my case it is for the S&W M&P double stack mag.

To start the loading process you close the handles together like scissors. This compresses the mag follower.

The round is placed rim first into the port.

The handles are then moved apart.

This movement forces the round backwards and down onto the compressed follower.

The handles are then squeezed back together and the process repeated until mag is filled.

Then you press the mag release button and onto the next mag.
Took me a few attempts to get into the correct rhythm but then is was working easily.

Is it better than the UpLula?
The UpLula is universal. Works on just about every brand and type of mag.
The SpeedBeez works for one specific mag.
You would have to buy a unit fir each brand or type of mag you use. And there are just a few they make. So if you’re trying to load 8mm Nambu mags you’re S.O.L.

Ease of use goes to the SpeedBeez.
The UpLula has to have a stable platform to load effectively.
The SB unit is completely hand held.

    Overall I give it a +
