Come on, Harley, that is too much.

You need to be a little closer to at least make people think it might be a genuine picture.

    Nice hog. : )

yea my dad carry's a .223 55 grain jsp's he's used it out 250 on hogs but shot placement is critical. My personal favorite from a blind is a .22-250 an ear shot will stop them in their tracks.

My buddy has taken a few hogs (~100lbs.) with a .223. He shoots them in the ear as well. I've always been hunting deer, so I have always used a .270 or 30-30. I've hunted with my RSRH in 44mag, but never had a shot I could take.

I guess it depends how big those suckers are where you hunt. The ranch in South Texas where I hunt, the feral hogs are small, but the javelina's are big. I usually shoot them with a Remington 700 .308 or an AR-15 .223/5.56

Guess this is my excuse to go get that S&W model 29-2 I've had my eye on...

Good luck finding an urban lake where you can use a pistol. I'm not trying to bust any bubbles here, but you'll want to call ahead of time. Most Army Corp of Engineers land, around here, only allow shotguns (plus bow, maybe) for hunting hogs. No slugs.

Call or look them up online to verify the means available to you.

I took a few shots at some javelinas 2 weeks ago with 55gr 223 and all I managed to do was scratch their itch, didn't knock one of them down. I might try some of the heavier 223 next time but there is no way I would go after 350 lb+ hogs with anything less than .270/.308 though a 243 well placed would be excellent round.

I was planning to go verify tomorrow. It'd be a good excuse to break out the 12-gage...
