Ever made bacon grease white gravy for biscuits? One of those last days working the renfest I got the request for it for some canned biscuits one morning. Then there's whats better a brown butter or bacon grease blindfolded egg? Either or it is some top level eating in my book.
I haven't, but my Granny use to. She could make some of the best gravies, and along with biscuits, beans and taters they got served with just about every meal.

Yea. Mom did the same. always had a empty Folgers coffee can she kept the bacon grease in on the stove.
So did my Granny. kept a strainer to filter out the larger crumbs out of the grease.

She would use a mixture of bacon drippings and lard to do most all of her frying in.

Fried chicken just tastes better when cooked in BG and lard, than vegetable oil.
