My daughter wanted crab so my wife said you buy and cook and me and dad will eat it. Kids can be good to have sometimes.

    Out here by the lake!
Slow cooker baby back ribs, kraut and grilled pineapple.
Ribs, kraut, white beans & diced potatoes was a common meal growing up. Subbing bratwurst or smoked sausage another common meal.

Caramelizing onions & the kraut in the sausage fat just adds flavor. Eating Gas-X before and afterwards is advised.

One of my neighbors had it first telling me that he’s not a fan of kraut, had seconds.

I usually add some bacon fat to the kraut. Tonight I’ll add sautéed onions.
    Good suggestion.

    ps
The ribs are cooking on a bed of onions with Worcestershire.
I save the juice from the slow cooker and add to soup tomorrow.

Back home Bratwurst are served with the caramelized onions & kraut . You can add a good brown or Creole mustard to add more flavor to the onions & kraut.
