Just read another article on this.
The nightclub has offered the individual that got shot "free drinks for life".

    Gunz are icky.
Regardless of how it happened he should be held accountable for it.
If that had happened to a regular old "civilian" concealed carrier the law, lawyers, and the media would be crucifying the guy.
But as usual some animals are more equal than others.

    I totally agree.

But then again, he was legally carrying in the club.
A normal civilian wouldn't have been.

    Not exactly apples to apples.

So... carrying in the club ITSELF didn’t cause the FBI agent’s moron-ness...

Let’s just admit that that post is poorly worded and move on?

Not to excuse him, but y'all are harsh. He dumps his gun on the floor, freaks out, picks it up with his finger on the go switch - bam. I can easily see that even if he was not intoxicated. Stupid, yes.

This Agent forgot the rule that he is equally responsible for his actions as are all of our citizens.

Exactly! And as a part of our nation's law enforcement should be held to, if not equal, a higher standard. It's their duty to gain and hold our trust. The FBI has, in my opinion, fallen from that in the Obama years.

While factually correct, 6 years and an ARCOM as the highest decoration awarded is average for an O-3.

I’m guessing the guy has a leafeater record on Active Duty. I could be wrong, but I’ll bet on he’s an average joe.

Which brings me to what someone said earlier about ‘respect’ and ‘higher expectations’ for Special Agents and the FBI.

The agency, like any other, is impacted by the Pareto principle. They can recruit the best and brightest, but that doesn’t mean jack when it comes to behavior.

If you want your reputation as an agency to be above reproach, you recruit, hire, retain, and promote for integrity. Then, you ruthlessly weed out those who tarnish integrity.

Article reads as if the gun went off on it's own. Haven't read one article that says it like it is, he picked it up with his finger on the trigger.

Oh. A true accidental discharge instead of the negligent discharge.

Maybe it was a Sig and that whole drop test thing.

Or, it’s like a unicorn. Often talked about, yet mythical.
