It shows where the racism is.Nice. Using racism against the racists. The other guy is just pissed because he got beat at his own dishonest game.
He never "pretended" to be Black. He just used a bunch of Black People's photographs he found on the internet. Then, he put some captions under their visages, and ... wait for it ... fooled a majority Black district to vote for him.
He knew how his district voted -- purely by race, and he conned them fair and square. He also knew that the 24-Year incumbent was only known for the color of his skin. Deception works.
Snake oil still sells in this day and age.
I have the same last name as A WHOLE LOT of black folks. I always wondered what would happen if I "accidentally" checked the "African American" box on job applications. In my line of work it's not uncommon to do the whole interview process over the phone and get hired before anyone actually sees you in person. I've often wondered if I'd be let go as soon as they found out I wasn't black (and tried to fire me over a minor clerical mistake on my application), and if I'd have a decent discrimination lawsuit on my hands if that happened. And if I could rinse and repeat that process over and over getting paid to punish racists who only hired me because they thought I was black and then wanted to fire me after they found out I wasn't. Sad world we're living in when a guy like me even thinks about that.
Just don't check a box, or if it's available, check the decline to state box.
Wait, is it even legal to ask someone's ethnicity on a job application?
