Interesting....at all of the pistol classes I have attended as a student, I have only seen a Glock go down. XD kept working fine.I wouldn't go so far as to say "there are issues with the XD" I'd rather tell you that no one would give a crap about them if they were still called HS2000s and were sold for half the current price like they were when they debuted. I personally have no appreciation for the un-necessary grip safety and see ZERO performance benefits over any other striker fired pistol. If you have managed to convince yourself that the grip safety is a plus then good for you.
The reality is, in either an experienced shooter or a complete rookies hands, a glock will beat the pants off them all day long. Before you blast back at me, consider that I am a hammer fired fan all day long but would still carry my g19 above the other 20+ pistols I own on any given sunday. Those include 1911 platforms, grandpowers, berettas, S&Ws, FNs, rugers, walthers, glocks and several revolvers. The Xd is not a sub par gun but for a full size auto, I would trust my life several others before I opt for an XD.
Handling malfunctions is a training issue. If you haven't experienced them on whatever platform you shoot them you haven't shot it much.

I had a Glock 26. Just didn't like it. Traded it for an XDs .45. I like it.
That's all I need to know.
Ya'll can banter back and forth. I just sit over here and be happy.
That settles it, you are a fruit.I like Apples, and I like Oranges.

Agreed. If you want to appreciate a heavy carry gun trigger train on it and switch to a 1911, ruger mark series or anything you consider to have a good trigger. Your groups will be way better. The heavy trigger makes you really focus on fundamentals. What!? Thats the GOOD one compared to the M&P full size and compact!
You no speak sarcasm? What is all about the hk? This thread is about the xd45.

Sarcasm sucks and it hates us.....

I own both the XD and the glock and love them both. The XD was my first pistol and it's still going strong. I just bought the glock a few weeks ago and carry it everyday now. The only differences I see are the grip safety and the tear down. IMO they are both great pistols
