    After tonight, ...
The only thing that bugged me about last night was the way the emergency alerts on my cell phone knocked me out of bed. After the first round of them, I went back to sleep. After the second round, I got smart and turned off my phone. :)

I didn't notice anything in the Cinco Ranch area, looks like less than an inch of rain @ barker for the past 24 hrs.

I live in Cinco and we had some rain last night, but not the monsoons they got to the north.

Sent from a B-52 flying over Russia.

The closest rain gauge to me maintained by Harris county shows just over 5.5" of rain in the last 24 hours. Even though it's just a few miles away, my gut tells me that it's way off for my particular location. The heavy, tough-to-see-across-the-street rain has come in waves for the last 24 hours and has been continuous for the last several. I don't have a rain gauge but I put an empty 5-gallon bucket on my back patio last night. As of now, it's full. Yeah, it probably caught a bunch of extra water bouncing off the picnic table and the top is a little bigger than the bottom. Despite all that, I know in my heart of hearts we've had a lot more than the "official" number.

Addendum - I had to leave this note and rush outside. I got a call from my sis who saw our trashcan headed downstream so I had to run out and get it. I didn't think that would happen while it was fully loaded. :(

ETA - OK, somebody put an ottoman out for the trash. It just went flying by like a speedboat, bouncing off the mailman's bumper before disappearing down the street. We've officially had well over 2 inches of rain in the last 2 hours. Not too far north of me, they've officially gotten just under a foot of rain in the last 24 hours. I am getting tired of this. I really hope that the rain is far enough north that it's not refilling the reservoirs for ASC and BRI.

Since that last sentence was actually on-topic (!), can anybody provide any insight on that subject? ASC's web site still says they'll be partially open tomorrow. BRI's site says nothing, so I guess we're still relying on the last email update that says we can't get in until the reservoir drops below 90 feet. Oddly enough, the site I use to monitor the level at Addicks seems to be stuck and not updating: http://waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/individual/addicks

    Gunz are icky.
Wow! Looking at the radar right now. The storm line is just training west to east over you folks up north of Houston.
Prayers out to y'all and hope no damages.

This is the website I use for the Addicks water level...

The second and third graphs are basically the same thing just different sensors (I believe). You can see the reading was around 94.5 yesterday but is starting to curve back up toward 95. Whether it's four feet of water or five feet of water, we still have a way to go before we get our range back.

Been out there plenty of times with standing water but wondering just how bad things will be this weekend. Anyone planning to head out to ASC tomorrow? Would appreciate a photo or general report on conditions if at all possible. I'd be happy to get on the 50/100 rifle range, but have been hoping to get on the 200+ ranges. Figures I'd buy a new scope and get it mounted right as ASC goes underwater for a month...yet to try this thing out.

MitchKov, you can always call them, (281) 556-8199 is the number from the website. Rifle ranges are guaranteed to be muddy enough you want lace up boots to not lose them, or rubber galoshes may even be better.

If I can get there Monday, it'll be pistols only, but I'll let everyone know what it's like.

So thank to MReed, there is no ASC this weekend, opening is postponed to next weekend.

On a positive note, Lake Travis is the most full I've ever seen it, and it looks beautiful.

another round of rain expected..who knows if they will even be open this weekend?

The last time the weather weenies predicted rain all week, it rained for 2 hours on a Wednesday. Runoff worries me more than any new rain.
