    What source are you using?

I’m going by the Hodgdon website. It’s always steered me right, and it’s super easy to access.

It’s funny how much information can vary, depending on who is publishing the data.

With my 550, powder charge can vary +- .1 so I pick a middle weight and make that my starting load. As long as it cycles and hits my target, Then doesn’t show any pressure signs, I’m happy. I’m not a bullseye shooter, I just like shooting steel.

I was using this from their site. 115gr Speer HP on the left and lead on the right.

I was loading 115gr HAP at 4.2gr and for the 115gr XTPs I carried I was loading at 4.8gr. I also load all of my 9mm to 1.125"

ETA: I also load my 125gr powder coat cast at 4.0gr of win231. Same length. Good for plinking.

Well my wife almost called the fire department on me. I had about ⅓ pound of powder from pulls that I didnt want to reuse and was all mixed up. I decided to take it to the concrete slab in the back yard. I made a pretty good size pile with the comical trail leading to it for a fuse.

I didn't take into account that I was right under the dining room window.... Where my wife and kids were. The flame must have hit 5 feet high for about 8-10 seconds. At least 5 of those seconds we're pondering my poor choice of location for this experiment. Kids screamed. Wife yelled. Dogs ran. Cat hissed. Baby cried.

All in all there was no damage and in the end it was a pretty badass burn! But I won't be doing that again next to the window.

I've got a good sized jar of mixed, throw away, powder that I've been figuring on doing such.
    I'll be a bit more cautious .

I was completely safe. House and pets were never in any danger... I was just expecting something smaller. Either way, next time I'll do it in the middle of the street or at my friend's house after a bon fire

    Reckon it's worth video?
How long should the trail/fuse be?
Mine was only 4 inches but I had enough time to get to a safe distance.

I just bought the 33 pounds of lovex... Maybe I can spare a half pound. Let me think on it and get the kids to sleep

My .45 mold came in today so I cast up 151 (mis counted) 230 gr (+- 3 gr) RN. Sized and tumble lubed with some Lee ALOX. They are drying now and Ill probably load them up later this week.

Hmm... rebuilt my Dillon 650 9mm toolhead because I received my Dillon lock nuts and my custom powder funnel for the 9mm. BTW, the custom funnel works much better with my cast bullets. I also rebuilt the primer system. The spring that returns the primer advance arm was shot. The old spring was 1/2" shorter than the new spring.

I also received a Lachmiller .45 ACP 200 gr SWC mold. I'll heat that up and cast some bullets tomorrow. I'm kind of a 200 gr SWC addict. I've got several different molds for that bullet and they're all different. I'd really like to pick up the RCBS 201 KT mold. I really like the look of that bullet.

Went to the range this morning to figure out a decent load for the new batch of .224 bullets I just bought. I love those little pocket-sized Lee Loader kits.

I got the 9mm toolhead for my Dillon 650 dialed in and loaded 300 rounds. Then I went to my other bench to cast some bullets. I got a Lachmiller .45 200 gr SWC mold the other day and had to break it in. It's similar to the RCBS 200 gr SWC. Having both molds I have to say I prefer the Lachmiller. The driving bands are a bit wider and cut more square.

Started prepping some .223/5.56 brass to convert it to 300 BLK. Only doing 10 until I make sure they work. Dies, trim guage, etc along with all the parts to build the gun should be here tomorrow!

Finished testing and loading a 41Magnum 210gr load and wasting time trying to find a cleaner, less position sensitive replacement for WC680 that will cycle lightweight bullets in 300BLK.

I've never been clear on the necks when converting... Do you need to turn the necks? Are they too thick from the 223 brass side wall?

Today I got the repack boxes in the.mail. sorted out all of my 223s and boxed them up. The boxes aren't great but they'll do. I'm going to email them about a couple issues I had with the boxes and with the loader. I'm thinking I might just have to buy some for my 9mm as well.

Some brands of brass are too thick in the new neck area to use without turning but there are plenty of brands that will work fine as is.

Have you deprimed already? If not I would do that separately. Maybe I'm just ham-handed but I've bent a couple of decapping rods forming brass.

I always deprime and tumble (ss pins) before I do any processing. I like to start with clean brass.

Harbor freight has this tiny chop saw that works great. I cut them off at the base of the shoulder. Then I run them through the 300 dies prior to trimming.

It takes a bit more trimming, but they work perfect.
