I'm pretty dubious on dry film lubricants, but I ordered some to try out. Thanks for the snake oil recommendation....EEZOX will form a DRY layer of protection...

That's the thing; just about anything will work when applied appropriately. It's difficult to test in the real world if any of the wunderlubes do anything that a thin smear of axle grease doesn't. It's fun to play around with them all, tho.I think it worked.
Could be placebo

Yeah, that's what my mech engineer brother told me when I showed it to him.Like this?
It does say "multi-purpose" on it
A grease gun tube would be more than enough.Yeah, that's what my mech engineer brother told me when I showed it to him.
"Oh, that's a such and such bearing grease"
I might buy a 1lb tub and do a comparison
Boating accident? These tests are always interesting but I take them with a big spray of salt water. If anything, they tell me what will happen if I apply a product and then completely neglect my gun after burying it in the sand by the ocean or something similar.

Did this individual ever make a thread about it?There’s a member of this forum whose day job is lubrication expert. He literally makes his living by knowing everything there is to know about grease and oil. I believe I’ll take his advice.
He didn’t start it, but he had some really great advice into it.Did this individual ever make a thread about it?
My brother (who helped design stuff that went left this hunk of rock) said it doesn't really matter when it comes to guns.
Then again- there are people wiping down their guns with repackaged Crisco and baby butt paste. LOL

So I finally got around to using it. It has a very strong solvent smell that I recognize, but can't quite remember where. The wife thinks it smells like the car wash, and I think that is one component to it, but there is another layer to the smell that somehow reminds me of my grandma, or maybe elderly people in general... Is it Bengay?EEZOX
