The speed of light in a fiber optic cable is roughly 2/3 (more exactly, around 69%) the speed of light in a vacuum... exactly how fast depends upon the diameter of the fiber, since the photons "bounce around" inside it like a pipe. Researchers have created hollow fiber that transmits light at 99.7% the speed of light in a vacuum, but it has too much attenuation and is too expensive to deploy on long haul networks.

When alcohol is ingested, it disperses throughout the body according to water content. Lots of alcohol in the blood, not too much in fat tissue. At equilibrium there is 2100 times as much alcohol in the blood as there is in alveolar breath.

Alaska facts (since I grew up there):

Alaska has the Highest, Northernmost, Westernmost AND Easternmost point in the United States... (since the Aleutian islands cross the 180th Meridian, a GPS will show you in degrees East)
Alaska is more than twice the size of Texas.
Alaska has more coastline than the rest of the US combined (6,640 miles)
Alaska is the only state that borders 3 seas/oceans- The Pacific Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, and the Bering Sea
Alaska has more than 3 million lakes over 20 acres, making a total shoreline of over 33,000 miles.

Bee stings are acidic while wasp stings are alkaline
    From a Google search:
“The difference between a wasp and a bee sting is a bee's venom is acidic, with a pH in the range 5.0 to 5.5. Whilst Wasp venom, despite claims that it is alkaline, is actually almost neutral, with a pH of around 6.8 to 6.9.”

I note one UK website says wasp venom is alkaline (but they don’t quote a pH number). To truly be alkaline, the pH number would have to be above 7 (the neutral pH point).

    It's ok. I didn't know - either version.
