Haven't seen it in almost 48hrs. This snake is either as patient as I am or it left and returned to the woods and semi-dry creek south of my place.
I'm NOT going to entertain the other idea y'all are so hot to promote.. According to Odball "Those are negative waves man." :tankman:

Keep up, he already has. But his handgun is up to the task, and has already killed 2 copperheads with it.
Actually I've killed two cottonmouths with the old pistol. 'bout half dozen copperheads.

And he ain't joking. Mice can come through incredibly tiny openings. And anywhere a mice can go, a snake can follow.

Known of folks out camping who had snakes which got inside the tent and then crawled into the sleeping bag. What a way to wake up the next morning.

I have a manufacturing facility here on my place where we make food stuffs for one of our markets and Oldag is 100% correct if a fild mouse no bigger than your thumb can get in, so can a snake and snakes LOVE mice and rats for breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks. So to keep the snakes out its easy, make sure you have no mice/rats, do that and no snakes...learned that years ago out in the tack room where we kept tack and grains for our horses, keep it clean, sealed so mice cannot climb in and use plenty of bait under the floors, keep the corral clean or the non poison snakes like Texas Rat will show up, following them is the poison snakes, then it really goes downhill.

If you got mice UNDER your trailer you most likely have them inside too, especially with winter coming on. Start by getting some bait inside the trailer to begin killing off the mice!

    BuckshotWade,

I suspect that the cottonmouth "departed the scene" quickly once you put out the mothballs. = Worked for our yard around our farmhouse.

That does NOT mean that he has left the surrounding area, so I would keep alert & watch your dog for signs that he's still around.

    Buckshot Wade,

"Shoots every time" counts for much more than pretty. - I have a 1950s-vintage 12 gauge pump that lives in my bedroom at the farm & it & a flashlight is what I first reach for, to investigate "strange happenings in the dark".

Well gents, like I said, I'm patient. I can wait this slitherin' puke out. My last dog here, Wally, might be as dumb as a box of rocks but he's loyal and smart enough to get away from this thing. Poor old Fred had a habit of sleeping against the house often no more than a foot from the steps. I expect he was startled by it a couple weeks ago and got bit before he could get clear of it.

And I'm tellin' y'all I ain't got mice. But lots of toads and little lizzards. They feast on bugs around the place. That's what that slimy piece of reptilian shit's after. But what the hell do I know... I only live here. Besides Moonpie wants to bomb my place now so its pointless huh? :) Just like Arclight in the S.E. Asian War Games I played in 'bout 50 years ago... Bombs away moon! :pilot:

    Buckshot Wade,

Even as much as I hate/fear cottonmouths, that seems "just a bit extreme".
