The idea that Cotton is out of step with the NRA may be a wrong assumption.

Sometimes I wonder about the NRA. They actively fought two major extensions of gun rights in GA a few years ago when I lived there. Both passed to their chagrin. Lots of folks like me dropped our membership over it.

One was gun-in-car-storage at work, I forget the other. I do believe they backed repeal of the carry at a 'public gathering' which was a major win for gun carriers.

Best things about GA gun laws is there are very few prohibited places and signs carry no weight at all.

My belief is that Gun Owners of America (GOA) has forced the NRA to tighten up their pro 2A stance to a large extent! (thinking seriously about doing a Life membership with GOA - they've had my "annual" support for the last few years now.

So between GOA and SAF, which sends less annoying emails and letters begging for money? TSRA isn't bad, but NRA is ridiculous.

I got banned within two days after registering. Introduced myself, asked a couple of questions because I had just sent off my application. Not sure how but one or two members turned it around and tried to say I was anti-gun/carry/2A. Yeah, just sent in my LTC application and I'm anti-gun/carry/2A? Ok.

Then I found this place :)

    Glad you found us. Welcome.

Why does anyone give a big shit what happens on another forum? Am I missing something? If you don't like the guy that runs it, don't go there.
Kinda like this thread? If you don't like the discussion, keep moving.

Because the guy who runs it has some weight in the 2A community when it comes to legislation and pushing it through.

It's more about the guy than the forum, the way he runs his forum says a lot about his opinion on 2A rights though.

while reading these posts I just figured out that I have 5 memberships to gun orgs: NRA, GOA, SAF, NAGR and USCCA. I joined them at different times and never thought about it.

It seems like a very odd place. I tried to join but could not even make it past the registration part due to some kind of server error. Why would you want to restrict anyone. I want to meet anyone and everyone that loves guns. I find an almost instant camaraderie with people at Gun shows or at a gun store.

I'm not outright banned but they restricted me under the notion of a perceived broken rule. Which is a cryptic answer to when I posed the question of what I did.

So, this is an old thread, but I have not been able to even get the Texaschlforum.com to come up on any browser. Has it gone kaput? Been this way for me for about a week or so.
