You are whining and moaning about how bad things are politically, and that you are fed up, (as most of are with how things are, and will become.) and some of us are offering solutions, and you seem to be looking at ways they are going to fail, instead of working to see them succeed.

You want to do something, then jump in and look for some solutions instead of trying derail them before the train even leaves the station!
Nah... you misunderstand my intent. Opening sentence "Is a good idea!" I'm just trying to bring to light the hurdles/obstacles that need to be considered so solutions can be considered from the beginning instead of at the end of the process - where they'd be likely to fail.

I often disagree with Doug to some extent. Probably not so much in goals, but in how to get there.

That said, it’s not always bad to have a pessimist standing by to point out all the ways something can fail. Those people are often great resources to check yourself against and determine whether or not you’ve overlooked a fatal flaw.

I’m not saying you should drop ideas at the first sign of resistance, but his concerns should probably be weighed and considered.

Don't be so negative Son! We need ideas and suggestions and alternatives.

Like this idea. Facebook, Twitter and others, they might start "censoring" or restricting conservatives, but that doesn't mean we can't still use them. We would just need to be more careful in what we say, or more cryptic and such. Might not be able to post certain things on them, but they could still be a means of communicating with like-minded people.

Solutions like maybe someone regularly travels between meeting sites or headquarters, for lack of a better term and would be willing to be the courier to move communications around between groups/regions thereby eliminating the need to interact with the PPS. Uh... USPS.

Valid point. A really good point. Pointing out the where it could fail, and then working towards alternative ways around them.

Good idea. But, we could still use the USPS, even if the did go straight up socialist or communist. Mail is still sacred, and private. We would just need to hide it plain sight sort of method. Printed newspapers, or newsletters would need to be mailed inside of an envelope.

It is still sacred and private. It's a federal crime to open and read mail that isn't addressed to you.

And unless the USPS suspects illegal, or dangerous materials in the mail, they can't open and inspect it either.
Whewwww.... I don't even know how to reply to that. If you truly believe any law is sacred with the groups and people involved I reckon we're just gonna have to agree to disagree - strongly.

How abou TGT folks get on air sometime. Unfortunately my HF mast and antenna got destroyed in the shed fire and I need some muscle to remount the mast, but my UHF rig works fine. KG5GYL

'Top of the hill, Kerr County!
I've been off the air for many years since I sold some of my equipment but my neighbor loaned me his extra handheld (VHF/UHF) last week since he got a new one. I've gotten it to where I can bring up the local repeater, 146.79-.19. I have yet to hear anyone on this Kerr County repeater since I got this handheld. :(

I think a regular informal net or roundtable would be a great idea. For anything other than VHF/UHF I am goin to be limited to exceptional band conditions until I get my antenna situation sorted out.

Or at the least we could pick some times and frequencies to check in with each other should the net go down for whatever reason...
