Deer god sorry I’m on my phone. I’m trying to quote…I’m just gonna leave it be.

Anyway, perfect! So bjj; you know the importance of teaching. Teaching is what makes or brakes. I did Gracie, and kickboxing/boxing. It’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey. We will always be climbing that ladder as you know. I had found in my journeys I find it critical to help others as best we can. Set our ego aside and help others get squared away. Defense isn’t some private club and that’s how some of your postings came off as.

I want you to be as awesome as possible with your skill level. I want you to share your experience and knowledge and continue to be a contributing member. I’m no saint. I can be an asshole. The older I’m getting I find myself rejecting a lot of standards society has accepted about control. An ltc is just a sams club card. If gun owners did what’s right we would have no permits, no nfa daddy permission, and when someone is dangerous just give him a hardy teeth removal. It’s like background checks…do we really need em? They don’t do anything worth a dang.

Pay no attention to me I’m a salty pissy 40 year old.

Bro we're the same age. You can't call yourself old. I won't allow it.

Nope. Old. Just wait until you got to watch what you eat. I watch what I eat. I see all the stuff I’m not supposed to eat and watch myself eat it.

Honestly I watch what I eat because I want to fit inside of nice shirts and suit jackets. I find once you get past XL, the clothes start fitting weird.

Oh I’m still fit and thin I’m just a shell of what I was. My cholesterol was insane. It’s in the family. I’m 180 now. When I moved to Texas I was 215 and in great shape. In hindsight I probably would have died keeping that up.

That's not bad. 180 is lighter than me.

I'm more concerned about my actual numbers. I've seen fat people live to 95 years old because their blood pressure was low and they never got cancer.

My blood pressure was pre-hypertension last year so I went low sodium for basically 9 months straight (I didn't even touch a single tortilla chip).

Just got my new numbers in Texas and I got just under the normal limit (118/76).

An LTC. ETA, even prior to the CHL to LTC switcheroo that came with open carry in 2015, the CHL was only a statutory benefit.

There has never been a statute in Texas that specifically allows a person to discharge a firearm based on marksmanship alone.

So there was no "proficiency" section in the CHL paperwork like the LTC paperwork?

@CaliGunner the time I was shot at was probably not the norm. Doing farm work back in the day when I was such a handsome stud and all the farm girls wanted to take me in the barn.

A neighbor to the property got drunk and decided to shoot at us with a 30-06. No one was on or around his property guy just had issues. Ultimately we had to sneak up to him using the river and my instructions to my friend was as come up on him if I hit the dirt you pop his ass. My friend was in the bushes with a rifle at that point. Cops eventually helped deal with him but the sound of 30-06 rounds going by your head is like a metal saw blade warping just more intense.
