@TexasRedneck, nice, my only exception is the stippling, I do not find it visually appealing. But for function I am sure it will work as it should.
Yup - but I'm a function over form type.

Having owned several of both, I find that Taurus quality is better than Ruger, when it comes to handguns. Ruger makes great long guns.Got my first snubbie today a Taurus 856. I wanted something cheap to see if I like it before getting a nice ruger or s&w. 150rds thru it today I like it but have some serious pratice to do before it’s carried.

Thanks for the info I’ve never shot any snub prior to this one.Having owned several of both, I find that Taurus quality is better than Ruger, when it comes to handguns. Ruger makes great long guns.
I’ not a big fan of any “snub nose’, but have a few, & occasionally carry one, usually a Smith “Scandium” model. Thanks for the info I’ve never shot any snub prior to this one.
I’m not brand loyal but I like the platform for what it’s intended for plus I’m getting older an lazy so I’m simplifying life.I’ not a big fan of any “snub nose’, but have a few, & occasionally carry one, usually a Smith “Scandium” model.

Yes but there are exceptions.>
J-frames aren’t “range guns”, except for basic learning & practice.
Oh I found that out yesterday after 150 rds of just range ammo my wrist are a little sore.J-frames aren’t “range guns”, except for basic learning & practice.
Nice!Snubbies can be a handful. They have a tendency to hit low.
I believe this is due to when pulling in the trigger on double action the barrel tips down just as the break happens. The very short sight radius means the tiniest movement makes for a great angle off line of sight. The small grips they typically have lets the gun move/roll in your hand. Not much but enough.
They take a lot of practice to master at distances farther than beer belly.
Then again they’re not exactly 50yd Bullseye guns now are they.
I like them. Have several.

I plan on at least 100rds a month till I’m confident, at 7 yards my groups were about beach ball sized all DA.
Will do I saved the brass and been kicking the idea of learning to reload I have a basic lee loader kit I got a garage sale 15 years ago for 10$.If you can locate different bullet weight ammo, try as many different ones as possible.
One .38 snub I have hates anything other than 110 grain loads. Another just like it likes 158’s.
Good planning. Will do I saved the brass and been kicking the idea of learning to reload I have a basic lee loader kit I got a garage sale 15 years ago for 10$.
