Has anyone been in a CHL class where someone could not qualify in the shooting part? I've never heard of anyone not passing, and I wonder if they just let eveyone go even if the can't hit the broad side.
I must have been placed between to friends because they kept looking aorund me talking to each other. Neither of them knew how to operate their glocks (lock the slide back, etc) I think they were both able to pass though.
I've failed at least one that I can remember. I've also had several who failed the first attempt and passed on the second. I'll give them pointers if they're struggling. I'll even help them load their magazine, but I never fudge on the score. They get what they get.
...making one little hole.
One of my clients in my computer consulting business failed the shooting portion the first time. She was a newcomer to firearms, and after some additional practice passed easily the second time. It happens and if it is a true test it should not be automatic. Good for her for being persistent. She is very adamant about 2A rights and it makes me happy that she finally decided to go for it (she is 60ish).Has anyone been in a CHL class where someone could not qualify in the shooting part? Sadly during my second renewal class I was on the line next to an elderly lady attempting to qualify with a Model 26 Glock. Twice during the course of fire..........the instructor came to her and made some comment about nice feeling gun and fired 2-five round magazines into her target. She barely squeaked by with his 10 hits. I'm sure the instructor thought he was doing her a favor but somewhere down the road that could be a deadly mistake.

We were not told a "score".....it was pass / fail.
Yep, but your score must be at least 175 to pass.We were not told a "score".....it was pass / fail.
I have not taken a CHL class. But I'm a commissioned security Officer. Is the firing portion the same? .
I'm pretty sure that is what we shot. Thanks again. It might be. A level 3 instructor can use the CHL course, or the DPS Practical Combat Pistol course or the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Practical Pistol Course.
The CHL course uses a B27 target and you shoot 20 rounds from 3 yards, 20 from 7 yards and ten from 15. There are no timed reloads, one handed, kneeling or barricade fire.
