Gonna have to agree here, if it was an actual cloth flag that has been torn an faded absolutely give it a proper retirement however when it comes to not being the actual flag that will be flying (patch, shirt, painted on a rifle) I believe battle colors are not disrespect. Just an example this is the patch I have on my chest rig.

I have Texas flag and American flag patch that are subdued shades of tan and I have one that is black and green to be IR visible.
I do not care WHO you are, thats is good looking, even this old Army guy salutes that patch! Coffee is on me if we meet up and you got that on! Makes me wanna go out and buy a LaRue

Don't take it wrong, I am personally am good either way. Just a perspective on how some see it. The most important part is what it stands for, and the people that stand for It.
And yes, that is a good lookin patch :D
And I am for coffee, will make sure I have some at Hicksville if You come.

I have all but the blue painted on mine. But am very unhappy with how it looks. I am definitely a detail guy, and I can't live with it the way it is. I painted it with a small brush using Testors bottles of paint. I bought Testors spray paint yesterday, and plan to sand it smooth and spray it on. Pics will be posted when I get it done.

One thing that is really bugging me is that the paint ran into the grooves. Its not consistent or I would leave it. I plan to scrape it out with a dental tool.

Tooth picks help get out what littlle i got in the grooves and cleaning up edges. A brush about a 1/4 inch wide and a 3/16 tapred brush seemed to work best. Flat soft bristle hair.

I can be as detail oriented / anal about things as the next guy but for some reason, this time I'm not. In exchange for a bucket O cheap whiskey of his choosing, a buddy sprayed the panels in flat and brushed the star. One day I may detail clean up the rough spots, or maybe not. Lettering on the left side is tan.

And as many others have said, it is a pleasure doing business with Runner Runner and specifically Richard.

I guess it's time to put mine up. Still need to do the red and a second coat on the flag.

Those flags look sooo good. I was afraid mine wouldn't turn out well so I went with the outline.
