What is the consensus thus far in regards to coloring the flag?

Is Testors the way to go?

    Has anyone tried airbrushing yet?

    How about fingernail polish?

I had used fingernail polish (gold) and non-acetone remover to pimp out the roll marks on an FNX-9 a while back. It worked fairly well.

I will be ordering my lower next Friday along with some other goodies from Runner Runner and can't wait to get this thing built.

The builds pictured here look great. Kudos to all who have posted their work.

I was going for a subdued look with brown black and tan but it came out much brighter than expected

My buddy is airbrushing mine. I saw it a few days ago and the 3 panels looked great but getting the star to match was causing him headaches .. LoL. I'm in no hurry to get it back but will post pictures when I have it.

I tried krylon. The blue worked great, red was decent, but the white just would not completely cover and bled over. Wound up going back over it with testors. Almost done. Hope it turns out decent this time. I want it together.

As I am painfully becoming aware...
As I am also learning, very particular size and shape of brush helps too

You might consider using Testors and a toothpick to paint it. It does require two coats though. Worked great for me. I did the star that way. Now to do the flag itself. Leaning towards airbrush for the remainder of the flag.
