I love my XD subbie in 9mm
It is as close to a 1911 as I have found in 9mm with the polymer frame that I like.

It's size, ergonomics, and capacity to me is a great blend.

I guess I have been shooting the 1911 too long and am used to the grip safety.

I don't know about the feel of a XD subbie being like a 1911 but it is really comfortable...

    Care to elaborate....

I used to have problems keeping my XD9SC clean but then when I used my oil more sparingly when I cleaned my piece I got better results as it had a smoother action and it can go longer between cleanings... Although I still like to give it a cleaning pretty often... It just requires less work...

I actually had quoted "centexshooter" & was asking him to elaborate, but thanks for the input.

I did realize that the question was directed to him but it just seemed like my response would further help you out with information...

I was wondering how it could have been a rust bucket?

One of my Glocks was accidentally left behind in my old house during Ike & was under 3 ft of water & left in a wet case for a couple weeks before it was discovered & it was no worse for wear.
